So, eventually, all pseudoquanta symbols including  :rainbow will be available for use for the card cost and text box, right? Will the blank cost symbol be replaced with  :rainbow then?

Why would you need to? It's already understood that non-specified quanta are rainbow.

Errata: I seem to have jumped the gun on the announcement. (Discussion erupted again. It looks like Phase 1 -PQ activation costs is assured though)


Pseudoquanta mechanics and Pseudoquanta symbols are two different topics. The symbols would only be used to make the mechanics fit on the card text. However without the symbols the mechanics will still be used. (provided the mechanic in question is a good idea.)

Bah. Consistency.  This isn't a pudding, after all. =P

Seriously though, there isn't any reason to make it a functioning symbol.  Any confusion about it should be resolved within the first couple of days of playing, if a person is paying any attention at all.  Besides, unlike other PQ symbols, this one is (or rather, isn't) already in the game in a functioning manner.  Why mess with something that already works, and have to go back and rework all those cards currently live for very little, if any, gain?

a possible fix during the game is to show the ful explanation on the card, but when paying for an effect, replace with the psuedoquanta symbol.

Ok we now have a process for PQ ideas.
If a card uses a PQ casting cost, activation cost or symbol it will find a home in a Repository thread.
If a card generates quanta via a PQ mechanic it will find a home in the Crucible and above.

Priori quanta now denotes the last element used for card costs, skill costs, generated quanta, or any other condition relating to quanta specified by the card text, and refers to card cost by default if condition is unspecified. Please update the description too. :P
