While it would be easily possible to whip up a few potential definitions for a 'blood' pseudoquanta, I think generally the idea should come first (and be necessary for a card mechanic), then art should come after it.  ;)

Blood was done a while ago, by patchx94. It wasn't exactly a psuedoquanta, however it did require HP costs.

I certainly understand.  How would Blood psuedoquanta be used anyways?  Next to the icon, the number would represent the HP lost?  If so, would the default be temporary (anti-Heal, 80 out of 100 left) with a keyword in the text saying Permanent or Sacrifice (anti-SoD, 80 out of 80 left)?

I'd just go so far as to say that Blood should be entirely MaxHP loss; damage that can be healed should just be labeled on the card as damage taken when cast.

Plus, damage taken is easily mitigated with SoGs, Heals, Sanctuaries, etc.

Max HP seems to be the way to go. And don't forget 1 :blood can also represent a certain amount of health such as 5HP. ^_^

I was trying to work with the Blood mechanic, but I realized a problem.  It currently, like all Psuedo-quanta uses the top right corner for its cost, theoretically.  That means all Blood cards would be free except for the hp cost, unless we added an Absorb clause.  For a spell, that might be cumbersome, and permanents don't always need to absorb each turn.

not neccesarrily, for monsters, the absorb clause can simply be
absorb (n)
where (n) is the max life removed, and if it absorbs something every turn, it can be
absorb (n) at turn end.
The laziest elements player this side of one thousand posts.

The way I did it in my bloodwork series was "Lose X HPs when played." and "Absorb X HPs every turn." Anyways, it's certainly possible to think of two distinct clauses that mean instant cost or continuous upkeep. But there's nothing to get away from the "cumbersome" part of trying to fit everything onto a card.

What about this: Make the cards "free" but add, with the pseudoquanta description in the notes, that any card played that uses this type of "quanta" will cause the player to be silenced. Then, for the weapon, make the ability "remove silence from yourself."
