Philosophy: Bumping Card Idea Threads

What is your philosophy on bumping your Card Idea threads and those of others? Should you try to bump with a "Bump!"? Should a bump necessarily have more substance/analysis? How long should one wait before bumping a thread that has quieted down?

What are your overall thoughts on Bumps?

if you only have one recently active post, i dont mind a bump.  if you have multiples on the front page, you're being a selfish dink.

if youre going to bump someone else's thread, if you cant think of something worthwhile to say, or at least a good question to ask, dont bother.

^ Pretty much agree there.

I think there are few worthwhile reasons to bump:
1) You are trying to balance a card and haven't received any feedback after several days.
2) The card has fallen several pages back where people hardly ever look. (This can happen even during a fairly lively discussion if multiple people suddenly decide to put up several new topics each)
3) Its been a very long time and you are trying to revive an old idea with some new insight, mechanic, etc. and don't want to start a brand new post (this helps conserve board space so thats a good thing IMHO)

Sometimes on my card ideas I believe that if it didn't garner attention, it doesn't merit attention and just let it die. Not sure if that's the best course of action though...

generally, i'll only bump if ive made a change to the card or if it's moved up from crucible and i feel like patting myself on the back

1 empty Bump 2 days after being posted if there were no comments and it fell off the front page.

After 2 days, only bump if bumping is a side effect* of saying something new.

*Side effect means bumping was not the goal of the post.

I'd like to think I limit myself to bumping only:

1) Old ideas that are up for moving to the Crucible if it only had a 3~4 pertinent comments.
2) Old ideas that I'd like to revamp to match any updates or any other in-game changes.
3) Ideas that have fallen to at least the 3rd page within a few days of being submitted that I would like to have a little more feedback on.

I never thought about it like that.

If I read something interesting that I feel like I have some thought to contribute, I'll comment. For my own threads... well I post things and see what people will say. I'll keep a conversation going if there's one to be had, but if it's dead- it's dead.

Ok, now seriously, I don't think bumping card ideas is a bad thing. It helps CI&A as a whole I think but I won't explain more about my point of view (too tired right now...).
