I'm new here, but I think I am posting in the right place.
My idea revolves around a set of cards (one of each element) that all effect both players at the same time. This would be done but having a single permanent that has the same effect on both players each turn. You could use this to your advantage by building a deck that overrides the disadvantage or synergies with the advantages. Such ideas would include: (Some are better than other. There is plenty room for improvement.)
- Each player is dealt 5 damage at the beginning of their turn. Players cannot heal while this card is in play. OR
- Each player is dealt 2+X damage at the beginning of their turn, where X is the number of cards in their hand. When a player reaches 0 cards in their hand, this card is destroyed, that player is dealt 3 damage and draws 2 cards.
- Each player draws an extra card at the beginning of their turn. Cards cannot be drawn in the middle of a turn while this card is in play.
- Each player healed 10 HP every turn. Whenever a player has over 200 health, this card is destroyed and 50 damage is dealt to that player.
- At the end of each turn, a player must discard a card from their hand. When a player reaches 0 cards in their hand, this card is destroyed and that player is dealt 10 damage.
- At the beginning of each turn, a malignant cell is added to each players field. When a player's creature field is full, this card is destroyed and each creature for that player gains +2/+1.
- Each player gains 8 random quanta at the beginning of their turn. When a Super Nova or Black Hole is played, this card is destroyed and the player of that card has all their quanta drained.
- Each player has a 3/1 creature added to their field at the beginning of their turn. When a player reaches 10 creatures on the field, this card is destroyed and 3 of their creatures gain adrenaline.
- Antimatter is cast on a random creature at the beginning of each turn. If a player is healed more than 30 hp in a single turn, this card is destroyed and each card on the other players field is effected by an improved mutation.
- All damage from creatures and permanents is dissipated. This card is destroyed at the beginning of a turn when a player has enough damage to kill the other in one turn. (Life is all yellow, no green)
- While this card is in play, all creatures are airborne. If Wings is also in play, remove airborne from all creatures.
- At the beginning of each turn, a creature card is frozen. When a player has more than 4 creature cards frozen at once, this card is destroyed and all of that players creatures gains +3/+3.
- Each player destroys a pillar/pendulum/mark of their choice at the beginning of their turn. When a player no longer has any pillar/pendulum/mark, this card is destroyed and and that player gets 2 of each quanta added to their pool.
These are just ideas for each card, I am not proposing any of these cards actually be made. All ideas are subject to replacement or improvement. These cards would not stack. Each would have a quanta cost TBD from each of their respected elements. This would add an interesting aspect to PvP.
