I wonder how spells could be divided into different classifications, for thematic and mechanic.
Maybe the mechanics could roughly be divided like...
-Offensive- Does damage.
Fire Blot, Ice Bolt, Shockwave...
-Defensive- Healing, both passive and immediate.
Heal, Purify...
-Buffing/debuffing- Changes creatures stats or skills.
Blessing, Rage Potion, Butterfly Effect, Liquid Shadow...
-Hand Control- Affects drawing, playing, and in-hand generated cards.
Reverse Time, Silence, Precognition, Nightmare...
-Permanent Control-
Deflagration, Steal, Earthquake...
Still working on the names that apply thematically related divisions...
