I was going to remove this, since it posted here by accident, but the Aquatic skill has come up in the past and may be worth discussing.

Another similar tie in would be "amphibious" which would allow a non-water creature to survive in flooding (and maybe even gain bonuses when in a flooded slot)

Also of interest is tying in "blood lust" based mechanics. E.g. skills that can only used upon targets that are already injured.

For info on the "Battle" mechanic, see the Creature-to-Creature Combat Design and Balance by stereohelix on the Card Design board.

The bonus stats are applied before the battle, (i.e. the unupgraded version could battle a colossal dragon and live with 1 hp left)

For the "Aquatic" trait: Essentially, when this card is played, the owner is asked to pick a flooded slot for the creature to enter. If flooding ends, this creature will die on its next attack (much like a non-water creature would die due to the presence of flooding, but reversed).

If this creature gets copied or gains mitosis, whatever open flooded slot would be highest on the priority que gets used. If none are present, the poor shark ends up on dry land and gets to die on its next attack.

I would love to see this ability in the game. Combos with SoP very well and makes Flooding a bigger part of the meta. It also is a really nice mechanic that can combo with an aether/water duo.

The card itself may be better with -cost -attack/defense stats. Maybe with an interesting greater attack than defense.
