Tribute | Sacrifice a creature to bring out another creature https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=9912.msg118552#msg118552

Ok so this came up in one of the threads so I thought I would share. I understand it is used in other Tcgs so may not have a place here but it is worth discussing the ins and outs of it.

Basically the concept is that you scarifice a card to bring out another. This could be done in a variety of ways:

 1. You scarifice any creature on the field and bring out the one in your hand providing the one in your hand says you can do so (scarifice a creature to play this card)
 2. You have a spell that states scarifice a creature bring out another creature.
 3. A creature in play says you can scarifice it for Quanta Gain.

Any of these would work the third is the one I like best as it is basically already in the game (immolation) but they are all ways this could be implemented.

So any ideas on this concept people?

Thanks

Yes it is a little like the second option although it doesn't allow the playing of a card from your hand.

Metamorphisis by Girlsgeneration http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9735.0.html

I still am thinking about this as it could be way to balance some of the more OP, I just raise the cost, cards.

Thanks

Lets not forget "Immoulation/Cremate" thats a perfect one for tribute. You sacrifice a creature for quanta. So the mechanic for tribute is already in the game just under a different name. I agree if you start making several creature/permanent then having "Tribute" listed on it might be a lot better than "Sacrifice a creature";at least for word space which is already so limited.

yu-gi-oh is all about "tribute" for more powerful monsters.
