UPDATE:

I added crusader using the form, other than the incessant need to switch back and forth between tabs, it was a smooth process. EDIT: Kael helped me find a workaround. +1 to you  :)

Lastly, we are going to need to find some way to be able to change the status of the card (i.e. crucible, forge, armory, archive, ect..), or just get rid of it all together. At the moment, this value is static, but needs to be dynamic.
Amazing stuff you're doing here still Timer. :)

In regards to the 'level-status' of a card, is it possible for administrators to enter the 'Sorted' data spreadsheets and edit certain sections accordingly? If not, then that's okay; if you think about it, the fact that we provide an actual link to the card topic in question will allow more curious users to copy and paste that link into their window to see the card's placement at the time. Therefore, if the value can't be dynamic, then it's probably better to simply remove the level-status altogether (as unfortunate as it sounds).

Card Curators and the admin should have access to editing the spreadsheet of card data directly of course. ;)

That was the plan from the start. The current BETA version you see here is still under development. Some of the things you see now will not be available to the public once it goes live. The admin, the card curators, and possibly myself will be the only ones allowed to access this spreadsheet after it goes live. Once I get the time, I'll work on adding security features to this spreadsheet in order to take all precautions against another incident like the trials spreadsheet. The security will be heavy, but simple, like adding a password-accessible only setting to it. All I can say for now is when I'm done with this spreadsheet, it's going to be as secure as Fort Knox.

Actually, there already is a link field. It's actually a required field, and users can simply click the link from the spreadsheet and it will open in a new tab/window. It's quite nifty :)
As for the static value, I do think that we should get rid of it. The link is all we need and it will eventually become common knowledge that the Database only holds cards in crucible and above (archives included).

Indeed; as I said above: Password-protecting this sheet is very much a possible security feature that will be added. Along with the admin, the card curators (present and future) will be given this password as prompted. To further add onto the security, I may or may not rotate/change passwords on intervals. I'd say the rotations will occur monthly, at the fastest. If, however, I do add these security features, I will need to be given full access to the spreadsheet. I'm not sure if this will become a problem, but it will certainly become something to take into mind.

Also (when I get the time), I'm going to address the horizontal scrolling issue with the gadget. It's thoroughly deprecated and needs improvement. For now I'll just slap on a quick fix, but I'll look into it further when I get more time.

This is exciting (:

Keep it up Timer and Scaredgirl!

..on a slightly unrelated side note, I've thought in the past wouldn't it be cool if there was a card database where you could rate the cards either on the "five star" standard or the "thumb up thumb down" standard

Okay, if you don't like reading walls of text, just skip to the link at the bottom. If you prefer to actually know what this post, and the link at the bottom, are about, then read on.

I have completed a few features for the new search function on the CID, thanks to members of chat (mainly kuro, vrt, and ajit) who suggested wonderful ideas for features.

HERE'S MY PROGRESS:
KEY:
if it has a strikeout, it has been finished
if it doesn't have a strikeout, it's either under
development or I haven't gotten to it yet
  • rating system (thumbs up/down)
  • Keyword search system
  • have only 1 vote per person per card every 24 hours
  • 24 hour lock reset trigger
  • color coded by element

A couple of things I need to mention:
The voting system (thumbs up/down) will be implimented directly within the forums. Just like youtube, each card idea topic will have an HTML element that will let the viewer rate thumbs up or thumbs down. Once the viewer votes, he cannot vote on that particular card idea until the 24 time period is up. This is to prevent people from spamming thumbs up or thumbs down on card ideas.
The 24 hour time period will refresh the same time the forum does, 00:00 GMT (in my time it's 7:00PM EST)

Possible problems with this:
only SG has the ability to place/embed HTML elements within the forums. Having this system would put a metric ton of extra work on her shoulders, so I suggest that the Curators be allowed HTML privileges in the Card Ideas & Art board. If this is not possible, then I will immediately start work on a workaround.

When you enter the app, you will be presented with a "Search" and a "Browse" button. The browse button simply shows you a complete list of all the cards submitted to the card ideas database. I'm still working on the scrolling function.
The browse function (when you click it) will take a few seconds to load up, this is simply because it has to go the 'long way' around in order to fetch data from the database (spreadsheet).
The search button will display a text box and another button that says "find". The actual search query doesn't work atm, but It will display the text entered in a little blurb below the text box.

IMPORTANT STUFF
When I update the app, all that is required of you, the user, is to refresh the page. Yes, it's that simple. No cache clearing and whatnot, just refresh.

WHEN YOU FIRST CLICK THE LINK AND ENTER THE WEBPAGE, YOU WILL SEE A YELLOW BAR AT THE TOP. CLICK ON THE DROP DOWN BOX ON THE RIGHT AND SELECT "don't show me this again".
