The Stun / Delay mechanic for permanents https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=43859.msg1004854#msg1004854

Stunning (delaying) of permanents is a fun mechanic, but its application to stackable permanents, namely pillars and pendulums, can pose a problem.

Disabling an entire stack can easily become OP making balancing a challenge. Here is my solution (which I came up with as a potential for use in nerfing SoF)

In the case of a non-stacking permanent, like a shield or weapon, it will be disabled.

For pillars and stackable permanents, instead of shutting down the whole stack, the effective stack size is instead reduced by the remaining stun duration.
Example:
Suppose accretion is used on a slot containing a stack of 10 life pillars. On the owner's next turn, only 8 quanta will be produced. The following turn, 9 quanta will get produced and on the turn after that, it will be back to full.

For bonewall (or anything like it in the future), the bonewall will only block damage if its remaining stack size is less than the stun duration. However, it will still still lose stack size as if it had blocked the attack.
E.g. if a bonewall with 3 counters were hit with accretion, it could only stop a single attack, so if 2 photons attacked, the first would get blocked and the second would get through, but the shield would still lose 2 counters.

Does this seem like a good way to employ this mechanic without it being overpowered on permanents or am I missing something? Any other thoughts would be good too since this is currently an underused "Soft" PC method that could make for some very interesting cards.

-This idea was inspired for use in Nerfing SoF and also by discussions on problems w/ pillar and stack stunning I saw on the "Breakdown" card topic: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,43486.0.html

Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
kill -9 `ps l | awk '{print $2" "$3" "$9}' | grep "Z" | awk '{printf("%s ",$2)}'`

Example: Delay 3
Delay 3 would delay a non stacking permanent for 3 turns.
Delay 3 would reduce a stack by 3, then 2 then 1 during the next 3 turns. [6 total permanent turns delayed]
Stacking permanents are usually comprised of less potent permanents than non stacking permanents (compare 1 layer of Bone Shield to any other shield)
This version of Delay hits stacking permanents harder than non stacking permanents but is not as unbalance as delaying the whole stack.

PS: I do not think Bone Wall would lose counters when it is blocking.
