Fire-Dark duo (I'm a noob, advice please!)

Really more like a Fire deck with just a splash of Dark. Also I am basically brand new to this game, and this is my first deck I've built that wasn't the cliche poison rush for farming.

My main strategy is just to use Immolation on Photons and weak Fire Spirits (or existing Phoenixes) to build up a lot of quanta and quickly play my Phoenixes. Then, use my other cards to control the opponent's creatures and permanents. The Devourer is in there because I can Immolate it, or leave it as a source of dark quanta for Steals.

With this deck I'd say I can take down level 3 AI's at least 9/10 times, the 1/10 of course being crappy draws, etc. But it's only had about a 60% win rate on Top 50's and I haven't even tried anything after that.

take out all dark pends
switch mark to dark
add more devourers in replacement for pends
and switch SoG for steal

However mono fire is best.

I don't see what purpose the darkness part is supposed to serve, and instead of a devourer, you could be using another photon.

Darkness part seems rather random, adding more Darkness or removing it altogether seems the way to go

Personally, I'd switch the mark to Darkness, take out the Devourer and all of the Pendulums, and call it good.  You're not going to need the Steals all that quickly anyway -- either your rush will go off and they'll kick in just in time for the shield-theft win (turn 4-5), or it won't and you'll have plenty of time to build up the while yo u wait for it to blow.
