Where to take my rainbow deck? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=32784.msg414152#msg414152
« on: October 22, 2011, 12:04:18 pm »
Hi All,

First post in the forums though I've been lurking for a while and loving the game for a whole lot longer. I'm now at a point where I have a deck I love and the electrum to shape it. My current idea is to start upgrading my pillars but I thought before investing my hard earned electrum in that I'd see what ideas / comments you had. So, be kind, what do you think of my deck:

Many thanks, looking forward to your criticism, also I hope this is in the correct part of the forum.

Drop the fahrenheit  earthquake and stoneskin, one copy of any is pretty much useless. Not to mention you are not going to be getting enough fire quanta for fiery because of steamy.
Whats this deck made for anyways?

Actually that may be sound advice. I'm using this deck atm in SIlver and Gold Arena where it does quite well (only played 2 gold but won both). I Think I put Fiery in there as I had very little fire cards. Earthquake is sometimes useful but as you say, it only crops up occasionally and then many times its too late to actually have an effect! Stone skin was in there to push my HP over 100 to gain a little more electrum on a Mastery (which I achieve fairly often) but actually it may not be worth it anymore.

So taking those cards out, would you put anything else in? Or change anything else?

In playing with this deck it works really quite well, with many different tactics being played out. EG:
  • Steam machine just upping and upping, eventually dealing 30+ damage a turn and can be momentum'd to bypass shields
  • Or the pulverizer (central to this deck imo) taking out shields to allow damage through - I may add another pulverize, thoughts?
  • Firefly queen with Fallen Druid combo producing a number of strong cards with mixed powers
  • Dune scorpion, getting a hit early with momentum and watching the opposition bleed out
  • The Otyugh can be very usefull for CC
  • Eternity is there to stop me from decking out - which is rare
  • Then I normally stand a good chance of mastery with Empathic bond, Purify and Miricle

Thanks for your input.

i would definetly remove the cards already mentioned and maybe add a protect artifact for protecting your eternity, because once its destroyed u have no chance to prevent decking out and since in such a large deck the creatures u need to win often come late, decking out is not rare

My suggestions:
- Remove Black Hole (you don't have a ressource limitation strategy).
- Remove Earthquake too.
- Fahrenheit is anti-combo with Steam Machine.
- You need a Protect artefact on your Eternity. You may want 2 of them, it's strong in stall decks.
- You may want a Quintessence to have your kill protected.
- Butterfly effect is stronger than Pulveriser, because you want to keep the Weapon slot for Eternity, giving a second life to your scorpion.
- Add a 5th Hourglass, in such a big deck, you want to draw to be able to have a Shield/Sundial in time.
- Maybe try to play more Pandemonium/Plague/Firestorm to get rid of masses.
- Fill to 60 with Nova/Supernovas if you can. :)

Agreed with Brontos except I wouldn't add in supernovas. Add quints for certain! Also consider replacing fahrenheit with a deflag. I would also add a 6th sundial. Also please keep the original version of the deck in a spoiler when you change it :).

Looked at this deck, and the first thing that came to mind was the much hated oraclebow.

Anyways, how would getting rid of all the quantum pillars and replacing them with a good number of time factories and aether pillars (and SN)? After that, follow Brontos' instructions and get rid of the useless cards and add + double the number of useful cards. (Though I can see the problem being the heavy reliance on SN..)

Your first sentence isn't a complete sentence. Please fix it so I can read what you wrote without destroying everything I know as a writer lol.

There is a lot of things that can be done to improve it, but maybe you would be so kind and tell us where you plan to use the deck?

It is very big, and if this is your first deck to actually upgrade fully, you should consider it carefully.
The deck isnt fast, wich means you will not be able to grind with it.
If its your first go at upping a deck, i would go for a faster, AI3 grinder.
Anyways. That was off topic.

Please tell me what the intentions of the deck is :)

Oh, hehe sorry. I didn't bother to check my sentences, and I had been scrolling down to see the deck again a lot.
Anyways, the incorrect sentence, corrected:
*Anyways, what do you think about getting rid of all the quantum pillars and replacing them with time factories, aether pillers and SN?

(Scared stiff that the corrected sentence is also wrong.  :-X Quite tired tonight.)

hahaha understood. Thanks :)

As for the suggestion I think changing around 4 quantum pillars and the 3 time pillars into ~5 time pendulums would help the deck a bit.
edit: But do note that this is just theoryocrafting so take this with a pinch of salt.

Did u base this on SG rainbow? It looks like it but watever. Anyways this deck is a bit too large.
