im looking to make this deck a little faster, but im not sure what to do, the idea is to keep everything they have frozen, and eventually just win. but i seem to be having problems with the fire shield and rain of fire, pretty much fire....

I'm not sure you need so many Arctic Squids. Usually, just three or four will suffice. Perhaps try some Forest Spirits to capitalize on all the  :water that you generate.

Plus, if you've thrown in Life to the mix, you may want some more dedicated healing or perhaps an Emerald Shield or a Carapace for spell protection and poison CC, respectively.

Also, what's the point of those Nymph's Tears? You only have Water Pillars in your deck, so you'll only be able to make Water Nymphs. Put in some Emerald Pillars and get some life Nymphs or take out the Tears completely.

Good start, regardless. Water/Life is usually what I choose to start out with because of its versatility.

So you want freezing and growing damage? If so, why not focus it on life and just splash freezes in?

as a fan of water i might be able to help it depends on what you choose if you want water with spirit splash i change one squid for another spirit and due to lw quanta i would replace tears and dragons for toadfish due to the fact fish is a cheaper hitter. The alternate is as omegareaper said is life with water splash namely freezes and a couple of puri if you want. then your life constituent would be made up of spirits, mitosis and either frogs or cockatrices as alternate damage with healing and your shield would then become thorn carapace. I'd test both variations in the trainer and decide which you prefer.

the problem i have with mainly life is that i cant generate all the water quanta i need to use all of my squids and spirits.

If you want to make it faster, I'd remove the :life cards. Especially Spirits are slow in growing their damage.
5 Squids is a lot and they barely deal any damage. I'd keep two at most and replace the rest with Dragons.
Purify...  they don't really help with speed and your squids are too squishy, so not even wort being healed.
I'd remove them (or keep one for poison decks).
With the :life cards removed, you get some space for a 3 third shield (they shall take over the work of your squids, and since your deck won't be the fastest, slowing down your enemy and reducing his damage will help you). You can fill the rest with :water pillars to get a late damage boost by spamming nymph queens.

I built something like this some time ago. The idea is to use adrenaline on the crawlers and grow the fire spirits.
