mindgate is slow. you need to slow down fast decks
a quinted flayer and a phase shield can slow down most decks
a quinted squid can slow down most decks
therefore, profit

now, i need to add some quantum pillars or more phase shields...

Un-upped, superfluous mindgates can't be taken out early enough to get opponent pillars and may be useless late game anyway. Pillars should be able to support enough quanta for the squids. Overall, nice deck (:
