Vampire EM Rush (AI3) https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=23026.msg292071#msg292071
« on: March 16, 2011, 10:42:20 pm »
I was trying to make a deck based off of mitosis and vampires for elders, but it's too vulnerable to CC, and it's so slow to set up.
My current deck is:
Code: [Select]
5c9 5c9 5c9 5cg 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5um 5um 5um 5uq 5uq 5uq 5ur 5ut 5ut 5ut 5ut 5v2 5v2
Is there any way to make it better?
Thanks in advance! :)

At a glance it looks like you have way more :life than you need. Maybe switch out some of the pendulums for dark pillars or more devourers?

As too the devourers, I find it's generally best to either go for a full six or just use pillars instead. Three isn't enough to slow your opponent and they aren't as good as a pillar for your quanta.

I also think going for primarily adrenaline instead of mitosis might work better. Adrenaline on vamps works really well. Maybe switch some mitosis' to adrenalines? That might be messing with the deck concept instead of tweaking this deck though . . .

Get rid of the Cloaks and add a Mitosis and Vampire.
Also switch out some of your Pendulums for Obsidian Pillars because you're primary quanta is Darkness.

The thing about vamps is that they're going to be vulnerable to CC ALWAYS (exaggerating a little).
I run a adrena-vamp deck sometimes and what you can do is either 1)incorporate quint into it, or use drain life. (there might be some other options)
another problem vamps face is shields. Put in a few steals for that.
It is the greatest mystery of all...

So remove the devourers and cloaks, add 2 steals, take 4-5 pendulums, add another mitosis, and fill the rest with dark pillars?
Should I remove the nymph too? I added it in case of a long game as a damage boost, but it's unreliable.
I added the cloaks as protection for the vampires, to play them all at once before the opponent can do anything. Sounds like I should just risk the CC because the vampires are so frail.

You can keep the nymph, but i only recommend it if you're going to add more adrenalines to compete the theme. I'd also take the yellow suggestions above, but add 2 drain life's to it. just like steals, and in the case when the vamps aren't enough, very helpful
