Upgrading suggestions?

Okay, being fairly new to the game (I will consider myself new until I manage to take down a FG at least once xD) I'm not too sure where to start when it comes to upgrading my deck. I'm using a general FG deck and already up'd a pillar, but now that I've thought about it some, am I starting off right? Is there any wrong way to do this? Basically what I'm trying to ask is what should I make sure gets upgraded first?

I got this deck from SG's post over in the newbie section on how to get rich in 1 day yadda yadda yadda. Anyways, in the post, it's recommended the hourglasses and the elf get upgraded first so I went ahead and up'd those with the spare electum I had at the time.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I will be grinding AI 3 with this deck until most, if not all, of it is upgraded. Sure I could use a speed deck, but this deck is too much fun xD

Otyugh is next. After that, I'd do pillars. It helps more with abating card cost than upgrading individual cards.

Both Otyughs first, not quite sure what then. Maybe half of your Pillars, then Supernovas to get faster start (look for other FG decks), and Permafrost Shield. If you have green shards, you can upgrade those and remove EBonds.

Many think that Boneyard and Sundial are actually better un-upped, so don't waste your coins for those. FFQueen and EBond are really common wins from FGs, just wait and you'll get those for free.

My suggestion is that forget that AI3 grinding and go for FGs with that deck. You'll lose maybe ~70% games, but then you can win upped cards from slots. That strategy gives you more coins/time than AI3 grinding.

Also you may want to consider adding a couple deflagerations or steals for more permanent control, that or a Pulverizer.
