Monoaether is one of the best shardless FG killers, just below RoL/Hope and Ghostal. What's best is that it's mindless to play. Last it was tested back when it could run SoG's, it had an FGei of 5041 (5041 electrum/hour). As I continued to play it a lot, I didn't experience a big hit in winrate, but there is one. Especially once you get a hold of Shards of Wisdom will your winrate increase and the speed of the deck increases by a lot. I don't think the FGei has dropped below 4500; the increased speed with SoW's may even have improved it. It's also the single best overall counter when you spin FG's from Oracle.
It hard counters Neptune, Destiny, Lionheart, Miracle, Paradox and Serket thanks to Dims and Dragons. It can serve as a decent (i.e. you will win 40-70% of the time and thus gain a lot of money over a longer period of time since you technically only need a winrate of 10% on average to gain electrum from FG's) counter against Chaos Lord, Akebono, Dark Matter, Dream Catcher, Fire Queen, Gemini, Graviton, Incarnate, Morte, Osiris and Seism. Pack 3 Electros against all of these except Morte and Incarnate where you'd rather have more SoW. Scorpio can be beaten but you need to splash 5 Purify off Water mark and adjust quanta for 5 Dragons and 2 Lobos. A great mostly unupped Hermes counter is 6 Dims, 6 Parallel Universes, 6 Enchant Artifact off Earth mark and 12 Aether pillars/tower. Seism can also be countered by splashing Enchant Artifacts and 2 Silences for the Granite Skins (SoW's better than Lobos).
So having Monoaether not just unupped but upped is quite possibly getting the most profitable deck in the game. I tried to upgrade a different deck first on my alt when I made one from scratch, but... I ran into SO many FG's I could counter with variants of MA that I just had to make it. My alt has made about 100k off of that alone.
However, I advise having 6 Dragons, 2 Lobotomizers and at least half the quanta sources upgraded before using it as a normal grinder against FG's. I also recommend 6 Dragons against HB's (AI4).
With that I can tell you that you can improve the deck against FG's by packing 8 pillars, 7 pends (splitting helps against Earthquake), 6 Dragons, 6 Dims, 2 Lobos and fill up with Immortals till you hit 30 cards. Never go above 30 cards. Once you get SoW's, substitute Immortals and don't fear going down to 14 quanta sources. You'll want 5 Dragons, 6 Phase Shields, 4 SoW's, 2 Electrocutors and 13 Towers/upped pends as the end result.
It -might- be better to have 6 Dragons and 3 SoW because it gives you an edge against Miracle and Divine Glory (play one Dragon and Lobo, wait till their HP is at 50, then play 5 Dragons for the kill to avoid them using Miracle), but the latter is likely a loss anyway. I would go with 5/4.
