Trying to eploit a trick; need help. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=11219.msg137696#msg137696

I came up with this on the way to my interview yesterday.  I was theoretical-deckbuilding on paper to relax (yes, I'm that obsessed), and I realized that there's some serious potential in the interaction between Aflatoxin and Thorn Carapace.  Thorn Carapace doesn't kill right away, so Aflatoxin has a chance to spread before it dies.  It's basically an endless source of death effects turn after turn.

Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52n 52n 52n 52n 52s 52s 52s 560 560 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5c2 5c2 5c3 5c3 5c5 5c6 5c6
?? = Chimera (to get around the 23-creature limit).  It could also be Mark of Darkness with Nightfall, I suppose.

This kills AI3s pretty well, I haven't tested it upgraded yet because I feel like the concept needs refining on a basic level first.

Any ideas?
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

I just tested it some and that was not my experience.  Maybe it was bad luck or maybe I just didn't get over the learning curve.  Without a lot of creature control once I put together a 23/23 chimera, gravity pull killed it in one or two turns.

And opponent's cells only seem to last a couple turns before my shield kills them all off.

I can't think of any way to improve it. :/  Maybe you could adrenaline the cells?

Looks like a nice idea. I would replace the heals and staff with adrenaline though, to spread the cells faster when you more more quick.

Adrenaline wouldn't work due to thorn carapace. If the adrenal cell isn't infected first, then it will be the next time and die on the third attack. If it does get infected at first (likely), it dies on the second attack.

Hmm... I might replace the heals with more bonds. And the staff with another life pillar.

If you could somehow have both nightfalls and chimeras in your deck, you could double the attack power of the chimera...Hmm...

I'm new to this, but i think that if you used a card such as skull shield or emerald shield to hold off the malignant cells then eventually they would lock your opponents field, and at the right time,  plague could be used to kill all of them at once? Again im not sure how this helps, but i think it is an interesting idea

Would a condor or two help? It would basically do half the increase(asuming chimera is used) that eclipse would, but without having to carry  :darkness

What would keep you from carrying something smaller (ball lightning, RoL) and a few gravity pulls?  That would ensure that your creature would live long enough to grow.  That may slow it down.

I had trouble against AI3 in the trainer. Most of it was just bad opening hands, though. I had large problems surviving the first few turns if my opening hand had less than 3 pillars. I'm also bad with timing when it comes to dropping the Chimera.

While messing around with the Nightfall idea for a short 10 games, I had some success with this:
Code: [Select]
52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52g 52n 52n 52n 52n 52s 52s 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5c3 5c3 5c3 5c5 5c6 5c6 5c6 5de 5de 5up 5up 5uq 5uq?? = Life Pendulum
-1 Bone Pillar, -1 Aflatoxin, -1 Emerald Pillar, -2 Heal, -2 Chimera
+1 Thorn Carapace, +1 Empathic Bond, +2 Life Pendulum, +2 Nightfall, +2 Steal

This version is still unbalanced but it had an easier time with it (read: idiot friendly version).

As for other ideas:  :gravity Take Gravity Pull with Chimera; Otyugh
:darkness Nightmare (on Cells and Skellies)
