I was looking for a good un-upped gnomtal but... I searched and... there weren't any at all!

I am looking forward to tanking PvP1 with this, but first I think I should put it forward to the community for tweaking.

Ahh, your deck is one that is very near and dear to my heart.  I made one that was built to deal with just about any threat that :earth commonly faces, with the only caveat being that Dimensional Shield still hurts.  That being said, I give you The Whole World:

Deck import code : [Select]
58r 58u 58u 58u 58u 591 594 594 596 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 622 622 622 622 8pu

Obviously, there are some things that help this deck if they were upped (replacing the Shrieker with a Steel Golem will make a world of difference, for instance), but all in all this deck can handle most things thrown at it.  Also, having Gemfinders instead of Riders makes a big difference since they don't use up the :earth quanta when you play them.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this deck can beat everything, but it's a fun deck that is still competitive.

My problem with Fractal Gnome decks is that you need a stalling factor, but your choices of stalling factors clog up your hand way too much.

Fractal Spark and Fractal Virus have Bonewall, of which you only need to pack two or three as a single Bonewall can last you the entire game.
RoL Hope has the eponymous Hope, which similar to Bonewall you only need one of.
Devtal doesn't need any extra cards to stall, its resource production and kill cards do that.

If I don't pack stalling I die and if I do I'm only getting like 3-4 cards out of my Fractal.

Thing is, you don't NEED more than 3-4 gnomes out of your first couple of fractals. Then you build up some quanta and use your stone-skins to create evil "tank mode"

Finally, with an almost empty field, you fractal shriekers.

A very nice deck you've got there!

It kind of defeats the title of the thread though:

"Tankin'" is not hiding behind a chain of shields.

Using 4-5 Aether Pillars and a Fractal to get only 3-4 gnomes doesn't make any sense to me. It would be a lot better if all that aether was just earth, in that case.

Wait until either you're about to die or are at 10 Aether. Then spam all your Stone Skins and fractal Shriekers.

Lol I put that up as a joke to underline my point- but it actually works better than the OP deck.
