I agree that Scarabs are cooler, lol, but when you TU them, they only gain a buff based on the number of Scarabs in play (I'm not going to explain it, you know how it works).

I was thinking of reducing the numbers of Scarab in favor of putting in more buffs and parallel's...
or in other means focusing more on getting a super-Scarab out and copying it mercilessly. D:<
This leads me to think that s/he will only have a couple Scarabs in the deck, instead of six, and that s/he plans to just buff it a lot before TUing it a bunch of times. I guess if you have multiple TU's, you could use one each turn on the super Scarab to not only make a copy, but give it a HP boost, and the Elite Scarabs have three base attack, too...

I don't know where I'm going with this. I guess I was just focusing on the Elite Otyugh's five base HP, verses the Elite Scarab's single HP, as well as the use of only a single Element, instead of two.

Yep, I know what you are saying, and you are right. I was thinking that maybe you could take like 4 Scarabs, tons of buffs and a bunch of TU's but the problem is quantum usage. TU's are very expensive for a rainbow deck to use so it would never work.

I also tried to do something with Aether Towers but failed miserably. Scarabs need Quantum Towers, and there is no way around that.

tons of buffs
I know I'm gonna sound uncool but there are only 3 creatures in this game with more than 12 HP, and one of them is a flying weapon.
So basically, you don't need to buff that much.
1 single Heavy Armor on an Oty will be enough most of the times. And with 2 on a scarab, you can devour anything but Armagios, Massive Dragons & Flying Titans.
More buff is a waste.

True. But I was talking  more about Blessing and Chaos Power. Those give you attack as well. Also having many buff cards ensures that you will have one ready when you need it.

I only need one argument for the Otyugh versus Scarab contest for myself;
Scarabs demand a far intelligent and complex approach to work than the uninspiring Otyughs.

I'm still haggling with the Scarab TU-focused deck, although the results are promising.
Switching to Aether Mark gave more than I thought it would, and with the help of Novas
I'm able to put a Super Scarab in the first turn while waiting for enough quanta to mass-produce.
For now it's 5 Scarabs in favor of 4 TU's.

This is not an oty vs. scarab contest, this is a thread on effectivly using scarabs and only scarabs(which I have a thing for myself)

Yeah, I think having no more than four Scarabs would be ideal, as history has shown that decks designed to abuse PU and buffed creatures rely more on multiple copies of PU than multiple of the one kind of creature. Dive-PU and Deja-PU were the first two decks that I thought of as I was reading this thread, although I guess Surprise Attack could be counted as well.
