How is the standard for this mono life deck? (Semi-Permalink)
« on: May 17, 2012, 08:58:35 pm »
I recently started a short project, where I wanted to make a deck with "perfect" qi (exactly 5),
half quantum generating cards, half of everything else and 30 cards total.
I chose to do this with life because it is my favorite element. This is what I ended up with:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bs 5bt 5bt 5bt 5bt 5bt 5bt 5bu 5bu 5bu 5bu 5bu 5bu 5c0 5c0 5c5 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 5de 8pn

I've got pretty god winrates with this in pvp1 and wondered how the standard of this deck is considering I want to be posting something on the
"Post Deck Ideas Here"-page sometime in the near future.

If you have good ways to improve it without ruining the fact (if I did nothing wrong) that it has all mentioned above the picture, then I would happily follow advice.

swap out either the cockatrices or some dragons for adrenalines. when used on a frog they give 12 damage, better than a dragon, but for 5? less quanta.

I used almost the same deck when I first started playing this game.  As bobknows said, though, I used 6 adrenaline instead of 6 dragons, and I had more cockatrices and less pillar due to needing less quanta.  For a new player starting out, monolife is probably one of the stronger decks for beating ai3 with.

This is the best I could to without ruining my project:

My deck certanly is not the best deck out there, but I am still trying not to dissobey my homemade rules for this deck...

Edit:
seams what I did just made it worse, I might be trying one more thing before i go to bed (it is 00:00 in norway).

I wont be testing it any more today, so I wil just post it and cal it the day(wich is now yesterday):

QI of 5 is just the accepted value for "best" QI value. Doesn't mean it's exactly 5, and depending on what deck archetype you use, it can be higher or lower than that. That said, adrenafrogs is probably more standard and powerful.

The QI is just the theoretical value.  You have to be able to consider when you draw cards and when they need to be played.

That being said, the above only applies to Mono :life  with the use of Adrenaline, since you have to wait for the creature.  Which is why anything 5<x<6 is still acceptable.

Note that I wrote "perfect" and not perfect. I did this as a project to see how effective the deck would be if I made it with qi=5, 30 cards and 50% pillars and pendulums. If you think this is a bad idea, just say so and I will scrap the project and move on to something new.
(And next time it might be something new-new)
But thanks for letting me know that what I ended up with is not as good as it could be.

You should have fewer pillars/pendulums, fewer dragons, more frogs and cockatrices.

A little more than 1/3 of your deck should be pillars/pendulums.
