Need advice - Earth/Fire build https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=679.msg6503#msg6503

Hello everyone,

I have an Earth/Fire deck I'm running and it's doing fine against the AI levels 1, 2, and 3 but as soon as I try to take on another player it seems to really fall short.  Any advice in how to adjust it?  Are there any tweaks I can add/remove with purchasable cards?  If not, are there any rares and I'll keep my eye out for those? And incase it matters, I can't upgrade any cards yet..I don't have near enough money for that at the moment.

Thank you all for any help.

Earth Mark

Stone Pillar x8
Burning Pillar x8

Stone Dragon x4
Lava Golem x4

Titanium Shield x2
Hammer x1
Fahrenheit x1
Enchant Artifact x2

Deflagration x2
Fire Bolt x2

Thank you for the tips.  I'll try that out now.

Well, for starters, it seems pretty decent, but you might want to reduce down to 30 cards (you have 34 currently). I'm not going to tell you what to do with your deck, but I will mention on what I would do to improve this deck, if it were my own.

First off, I'd take out the Stone Dragons and the Titanium Shield and the Enchant Artificats. The Earth quantum should really only be used with the golems, and having those other spells really just slows you down.

I'd probably take out most of those Stone Pillars, perhaps leaving two or three max. If I were to take out the other Earth cards, then I wouldn't need so many Stone Pillars, unless I got a few golems out.

I'd likely add some Plate Armors, too, to make the Golems more durable. This will help protect them from early Otyugh or kill spells.

I'd take out the Fire Bolts and replace them with Rain of Fires, for more universal creature control. I would add some more Deflagrations, too. Probably around four Deflags and two RoFs would be good.

Having Hammer and Fahrenheit means that if you have one in play, the other sits useless in your hand. Sure, they could be destroyed or stolen, but neither of them are priority targets for Steal OR permanent Destruction. With the ammount of Fire quanta that you'll be spending, Fahrenheit doesn't seem like a good choice, but because the Hammer gets weaker for someone if they don't have an Earth or Gravity Mark, most people won't steal it. If I were to run a weapon, it'd most likely be JUST the Hammer.

The final deck would probably look something like this:

Mark of EARTH

With so few creatures, it is a tad luck dependant, but it would most likely work very well against the AI decks, and perhaps decently in PvP.

I hope that helped. =D

I'd drop the Hammer, a Plate Armor and a Lava Golem to make room for 3 Fire Spirits.  To give your late-game spare Fire mana something to do.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

I think I'd drop either the fire end and go a standard earth style with possibly a few time pillars and graboids/shriekers, or switch to straight mono fire.

Well of course those would be better, but I'm trying to help while stying within the theme of the original deck.
