I respect your point that although this maybe flabby compared to a 30 carder it's more fun that way - I suspect every game requires subtly different tactics evolved on the fly.
My suggestion would be balance - write down for each quanta how much you would need to use all your cards ( and add a resonable estimate for repeated skill use) - you will not see 11 roughly equal numbers (plus time).Death is unused and there seems to be a really big demand for gravity.
I know it's a pretty standard rainbow trick but if you've got an Oty and a Fallen Druid why not try a graveyard ? Also how often do you get full value out of Mitosis; how many games do you have enough spare quanta to turn one of your critters into effective breeders ? As others have suggested quints and EA's probably worth thinking about for anything above AI3.  Re. next upgrades - got to be pillars for me everytime.

Bigger typically means a ton more control, speedbows with sub par draws lose to time bows on decent draws.

I generally use mitosis with acceleration. For example, acceleration on shrieker until it is 19/1. Then mitosis it. It doesn't die. I actually used to have boneyard but didn't get enough use. :S
