Top-50 Deck - for hilarity more than efficiency https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=16820.msg214960#msg214960
« on: December 02, 2010, 11:45:13 am »
Hi!  I developed this deck recently just to mess around with Druids and Amusing Mutation (a much better name than "Improved Mutation", eh?)...  I wonder if someone can help me optimize the deck so that it works more smoothly?  The goal is to have massively funny/awesome mutations but still beat a profitable amount of Top-50 decks.

Code: [Select]
4vl 5bv 5bv 5cg 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u6 6u6 6u6 6u6 7af 7ai 7am 7am 7am 7am 7n3 7n3 7n3 7n3
Currently it operates this way:
  • First turn: out pop some pillars, occasionally enabling a Supernova.  A rustler (or two) comes out this turn or the next.
  • The rustler(s) begin to convert all available light quanta into life quanta.  If/when the deck gets rolling, life quanta gets sucked up very, very quickly.
  • Play a druid and eventually a queen.  There are many in the deck to ensure that once the quanta are available, at least one of the two pops up; I don't expect to play all of them in a normal game.
  • Note that in this deck, a new mutant may immediately use its skill when 1) it used to be a rustler, 2) it was generated as a firefly the previous turn, or 3) it had not used a skill during the turn, and has not just been mutated.  Remutating a creature prevents it from using its skill during the same turn!
  • The green nymph is there in order to suddenly speed up the damage; adrenaline may be used on any of the 3-attack creatures that are in the deck to suddenly add 9 extra damage that the AI may not be expecting.  However, since there is only one nymph, it's sort of a hit-or-miss.
  • The heal is ideally saved for an EM, but it can be a lifesaver before the bonds appear.
Any advice appreciated!

so that he can make use of light quanta gotten off of quantum towers.
you only need 1-2 druids, replace them with SoGs and SoRs

I'd say no nymph. The deck is very life heavy.
Maybe another tower or rustler.

Quanta issues...  What if I replace the queens with ordinary queens?  I suppose on an optimized deck, you don't have to use multiple copies of the card if you won't eventually play them all... :(

Probably use unupped queens. That way the fireflies can help feed the Rustlers. The one damage you lose shouldn't really matter since they're usually just going to be mutated anyway.
