So I was attempting to make a deck with only 30 cards, and this is what I came up with:
12 Quantum Towers
5 SoG
1 Feral Bond
2 Quintessence
1 Elite Otyugh
1 Elite Fire Fly Queen
2 Fire Buckler
1 Graveyard
1 Eternity
2 Protect Artifact
2 Electrum Hourglass

I was using this deck in the trainer, but I haven't gotten much time to test.  When I did, I got EM versus Chaos Lord, Seism, and Paradox.

Things I noticed:  I got the EM, but it took some time vs Chaos Lord due to Dissipation Field.  I also noticed the lack of Fallen Elf, as I had a lot of unused quanta.

So my question is, if I want to keep 30 cards, what should I take out if I want to add either:
Improved Steal and or Fallen Elf + Quintessence

i dont understand, why you stick at 30 cards, but ill try:
13 Quantum Towers
4 SoG
2 Quintessence
1 Elite Otyugh
1 Elite Fire Fly Queen
1 Fallen Druid
2 Fire Buckler
1 Graveyard
1 Eternity
2 Protect Artifact
2 Electrum Hourglass

still stupid in my opinion (firebuckler can win games nearly alone, but is also a very bad shield in other cases/fgs, so you maybe should think of a larger deck (35-38 cards) and novas etc.

The 30 card limit was a challenge, as I got bored of grinding away with my standard rainbow.  Plus the smaller the deck, the less chance you will have a bad 10 card draw.  Like I said-  I got an elemental master vs Seism, which I have yet to even beat with my normal rainbow.  My reasoning for the fire buckler is it either kills small enemy creatures, or makes the large ones small enough to devour.  And no one shield is perfect, they all have their strengths and weaknesses.

The less cards you have, the more predictable and consistent a deck becomes.  Consistency in a deck will help you determine whether a deck is successful or not.  Some decks are consistently bad (needs to go back to the drawing board) while others are good (needs minor tweaking).
A lot of beginners seem to make the mistake of just throwing a bunch of useful/powerful cards in a deck.  When they lose to me they wonder why? :))
One must grasp the concept that:
-Adding a card to a deck reduces the chances of drawing a different but equally useful(relative) card.
