It works unupped as well. Believe me ;)

5 Steals are way too much. You can go without them or put up to two in, but not more. Also, I suggest Darkness Pends with Aether Mark and Aether Pillars to make 2nd turn Devourers possible. Vampire Stiletto, if you have it, is better than Lobo. In unupped meta, it's hard to decide to either use dragons or vamps or possibly both, but with 2 Nightfall I would usually go with vamps instead for some healing.
Do you have a great idea for a Weekly Tournament? Post it here!

Well I personally hate pests because they make the games slow and boring. Use it for a while and you will get insulted many times

Thats for the information, Sadly I couldn't use this deck in the tourney because i wasn't award of the special rules atm, so I have to make a new deck.

But thank you for the suggestions and I'll probably save it for arena or AI4:

You wouldnt want to post a deck you're about to use in a tourny and claim right on that thread you're going to use it for tourny. haha
A world war? Am I invited?
Thanks to skotadi for saying this in chat. Made me laugh pretty hard, and fits with me not getting drafted. :silly:

I noted that in my head. XD But its my first tourney so i didn't take it too seriously, and as I said, this deck would of been illegal anyways.

Update: Aether mark with dark pends isn't sufficient, so I'm trying dark mark with aether pends.

try pure aether pillars and run devourers off mark if you dont mind turn 3 devourers at the earliest.

With mostly upped cards, it is known as Pestal.
Unupped, it's Devtal, for common referral.

It works fine unupped, you just have to tinker with your ideas a little more.
Try something along the concept of the deck I have below...

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5uk 5uk 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5up 5up 5uq 5uq 5ut 5ut 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 606 61o 622 622 622 622 63a 8pu

Learn how to use it while playing against AI3. Play like 100 games with it there.

When you are winning comfortably with it, try it in Bronze arena. Give yourself a goal, like at least 10 special spins, before moving on.

After that, and if you are certain you can recognize opposing decks, then give it a whirl in PvP-1.
Human opponents are much more of a challenge, but since you have learned all it's aspects already - you should win more often than not.
Also, you will find that opponents simply leave the game, once they see the first fractal of devourers.

I'm responding to your thread, partly because this is a duo with the Darkness element, and coincidentally, I did participate in the tournament you mentioned.
I did construct a "Devtal" that conformed to the rules - although I did not employ it.
In spoiler below, if you're interested.

@Zephyl:
2 Vampires are enough, because you will fractal them in late-game, after the opponent has been locked.
2 Drain Life can work in case you are being rushed, but more will take you precious space you need in the deck.
