Noobie rainbow help? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=2987.msg25198#msg25198
« on: February 11, 2010, 08:26:04 pm »

I have been unhappy with the consistency of this deck against FG.  I have plenty of coin to upgrade cards, I just don't know if I should be upgrading at this point or trying to trim, that's one of the major reasons I didn't upgrade any more pillars.  With 60 cards, I went for an hourglass every 12 and a boneyard/bond/SoG every 20.  It's been nearly flawless lvl 5 with over 95% Mastery.  The massive (at least I feel it's massive) amount of permanents have helped to counter permanent control, and I basically save the enchant for the Pulverizer.  Any advice on what to upgrade, or what to lose/replace from this deck would be super.

Cheers.

The deck is too big. Try something like this instead: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1748.0.html
I would also add a Miracle in there.

You think I need two miracles? Perhaps you should re-read the gospel of Luke my friend, chapter 4 verse 12

I've seen the 34 card rainbows, and they are probably much more consistent than mine, but I really like the way games play out with this deck, I just want to be able to play a ton of these cool cards against FG with some measure of success.  If you are saying that trimming is the only way to go, could you maybe suggest a few cards you think aren't helping this deck?

The deck you referenced has 6 supernovas and relatively few pillars, should I start by upping my remaining novas?

I would drop the following:

Bonewall
Parallel Universe
Black Hole
Firefly Queen

I'd replace the Bonewalls with the  :entropy shield, which should dominate with all those pillars you have.  I also might try and pick a more clear focus.  I might try adding Aflotoxin, mutating the cells, and immortalizing the good ones.  The otyughs can eat your way to freedom if you need to.

And don't worry about the size.  Electrum Hourglasses handle that problem just fine.

What if I kicked the dimension shield for  :entropy shield and trimmed a boneyard for an aflotoxin?

You point out something really interesting now that I think about it, I do tend to have a glut of quanta at the end of matches- something I've not exploited.  The bone shields have just been crazy effective for me AND they come with the awesome benefit that they can't, realistically, be stolen or destroyed.

I only put the black hole in the deck because i upgraded it on accident.  When it's come up early it's been a deciding factor, and when it's come up at endgame it has tended to seal the deal on element mastery.

Also, that 'element of surprise' bit is truly classic mate, brilliant.

Thanks =D

Large amounts of mana aren't bad if you can use them.  Cards with abilities might help you there, like growth, lobo, devour, or as I suggested earlier, a mutate deck.

I like your lawyer sig too xD
