And if you're trying to get your' score up then you can always try PvP.
-
Hey guys I've been playing this for a few days now, and I'm not sure if this is the way things are meant to be. But the game is horrible slow. I've only managed to get a score of 240 so far, and probably win 55% of the time against the level 3 elder AI.
I use a water deck. The game was very fun to start, and is still enjoyable. However at this rate I don't see myself lasting long lol, it's becoming a chore fast :(
Is there anyway to level faster? or more efficiently? this seems like its going to take weeks and is getting boring fast. Have I missed something? or have a picked a dud element? :P
Any help/advice/deck build advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Murs

I will try this now. might have enough time for a game before I have to pop off to work. Im in chat by the way

ok here is my deck. you can see what cards I've won so far.
I put in the extra ice shield for when it gets stolen lol.
Ideally I want to put in more creatures. But I've found I often don't turn up pillars, which is why i've left that amount in there. And the freezes/icebolts are so useful when in a bind.
I keep the quantum pillars in for the abilities, and I love that steal when I have a chance to use it lol.
I currently only have 432 gold :(

Well, looking at that deck, I can see why, lol. At 38 cards, it's quite big, and with no draw control, you're more vulnerable to bad draws. The deck I have here is a decent one, and would definately increase your win percentage. It uses a Mark of Fire, so you'll probably have to spend the 100 Electrum to change it (click on Metamorphosis at the bottom), but it'll be cheap to make with the cards you already have, and you could sell off the ones you don't need.
Mark of FIRE
(http://i36.tinypic.com/xgl56u.jpg)
The strategy here is to use your Mark of Fire to build Fire Quantum for the Deflagrations and, if necessary, the single Rain of Fire. You'll use the Freezes to stall the enemy's creatures while you stall for time to play the dragons, and then rush them. Only Freeze SMART TARGETS, such as a big Otyugh (big enough to eat a dragon), Fallen Elf, Arctic Squid, and Dragons. Mind Flayers don't harm this deck at all.
I hope this helps. If you want to stay strictly to Water, I could probably design another deck for you.
Also, feel free to check out the trainer to get some more ideas.

Well, usually, Water is a more focussed element that is much harder to play in the beginning. Fire and Darkness, as has been said many times in this forum, are your best bets as a newbie. If you don't have the money to switch, or don't want to start over, here are some helpful tips.
Keep the deck thirty cards and of a single element.
Try to balance Pillars to cost. If you're using a lot of dragons, bring more pillars. If you're using a lot of lower cost creatures, then you probably won't need to many.
Use Freezes and Ice Bolts on major threats (Otyugh, Mind Flayer, Fallen Druid, Dragons), not just any creature.
The Ice Shield is your best friend, but it can be stolen easily, and then used against you (though the AI3 doesn't do this often).
Lok around this forum and see if you can find some other helpful tips, or ask in the chatroom. There are usually always players willing to help and give advice. If you want, post your deck here, either as a picture or a list, and we'll see what we can do to make it better. =D

Not bad. I actually start with the earth speed deck. Why? It's a bit more fun to play, I think it's faster, and you don't have to switch out marks when you go to rainbow thus saving you money.
But you either had to start as time and buy an entirely new deck or start as earth and have to switch your mark to time at the beginning. I fail to see how you save any money in the long run.
Actually, if you start off with the time mark and then sell all of your cards, you can buy 18 pillars, 6 graboids, and 5 shriekers (you'll have to keep one time factory). After just the first three quests (if I'm remembering right), you can buy that 6th shrieker and sell your last time factory. And yes, then you can easily switch back and forth between your rainbow deck for FG and your AI3 grinding deck without having to change your mark constantly.

I start as time, and buy the two earth creature cards I need. I then already have some of the time cards for the rainbow deck. I prefer this as monofire gets boring to play.
I suppose for a newbie who's never played before. Monofire is the way to go.

Alright, whatever floats your boat. Earth/time mark is rather boring as well, imo. I guess clicking on Graboids is kinda exciting?
Ever seen Tremors? Can't help but say GRABOIDS every time.

And also, you do save money by having only to switch marks, as opposed to buying a whole new deck. So you do save money in the long run.

Incredibly rude in fact

no im not on crack. I found I was winning 50+ per match. and most matches didn't last long :) maybe I just got lucky lol
-
ok so here is my rainbow deck.
And aside from beating miracle. I get my ass kicked by anyother false god :( Not sure why but the un-upgraded deck sure doesn't work for me lol

Ok so I finished the 500 point quest. thanks jelly lol. do i want to upgrade my cards? or?
and i picked the morning star for my rare card. which i now realise was a mistake. I thought it took any element :( stoopid small symbols, so hard to tell the difference between the 2 white ones
-
Thanks I'm saving gold now. seems pvp is the best way to grind gold. unless you get slow players. I've only lost one pvp game with this deck so far. and that loss he only had 8 life left :(
-
that build seems to work good. i still loose from time to time, but ya cant win em all lol
-
Yeah grinding to 2k gold i found was fastest by doing pvp. given that i only lost 2 games out of around 20.
Also 2k gold is not enough to buy the rainbow deck :( I spent my 2 k and still have about 5 cards to buy. I'd suggest saving up 2.5k

You know there is one other important aspect to grinding besides money, and that is TIME. I'm guessing you have never grinded level 3's with a speed deck, right? Do that for an hour, then do PvP for an hour, count how much money you made, and then come back here to talk.
By the way, do you realise that quite often your posts are rather rude abrupt and confrontational?

Wrong. Fastest way to grind gold can be found in that guide I gave you the link to.

Are you on crack? PvP is very slow way to make money, even if you won 100% of matches.

I don't really care about that. What I said was true and what you said was false. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a mathematical fact. If you find that to be "rude" then I suggest you stop coming to public forums.
-
I'm glad it helps. After posting it, though, I realized that it might be better to run 6 Freezes and only 5 Dragons, but I guess it's up to you, lol.
-
Absolutely. Hourglasses are critical in a deck that size. The cheaper cost to use the ability really helps, especially in the early game when you're short on quantums. I find- even in my fully upgraded deck- if I don't have an hourglass in the first 10 turns or so I am nearly guaranteed to lose. Sundials can help but don't lats long enough from a card drawing perspective.
I'm talking about fighting against FGs, BTW. If you're playing lv3 or possibly top-50 then hourglasses might not be as critical.
-
I was thinking more along the line "Scaredgirl vs. Mr. Jellyfish cage match special only on PPV"
;D
-
I would dump maxwells demon for a fallen druid- then you can mutate your skeletons or dangerous enemies.
Dump the graboid for a protect artifact.
Dump purify.
Add 1-3 more quantum pillars. I use 17 upgraded and still it's sometimes not enough for a good start in a deck that size. Unupgraded you will want a couple extras.

Mr. Jellyfish/scaredgirl-
I know this is a discussion forum, and sometimes discussions do sidetrack. However if you want to continue this discussion, please start a new thread- probably in off-topic. I'm sure I've seen similar comments in other threads as well.
-
Yeah I often find myself off to a great start only to run out of cards at the end. I would love to not have to stop drawing multiple cards just because I'm running out.
And do you mean ancient artifact?
I meant Enchant..
Sometimes forget the unupgraded names!
-
are you guys sure, as the guide states that I should be upgrading my hourglasses first? they don't see that useful. in a bind when i need some cards yes. but long term i need better attack
-
No I could have taken the time to point out the obvious points in my other posts to show you I never in fact disagreed with you at all. But really if you can't see it for yourself, I doubt myself pointing them out clear as day is going to help at all and in fact would probably only spur your negative attitude.
And I was being brutally honest I guess you could say. There was nothing spiteful or insulting in what I said.
Anyway jellyfish, with my post further up, where I posted my rainbow deck, can you think of any reason why I might be continually loosing and only able to beat the miracle set once so far?
-
woot i won against a poison fella. got some upgraded virus card i sold for 1200. only a few more hundred and i can buy my first upgrade lol. Still VERY frustrating games though. here's hoping the upgrades makes it easier
-
Yeah fair enough I have 3 upgraded ones now and it does help IF you get them near the start of the game lol.
You gotta love it when you win a upgraded card from a FC that you can just put straight into your deck :P
I've got 9 upgraded cards now. And I've only upgraded 4 :D

I agree. We definitely need a thread titled: "Scaredgirl is incredibly rude because she pointed out that I was wrong!!!". :)
-
Incredibly rude in fact
Don't mind Scaredgirl's manner. She's just a brutally honest and brash person on the internet. She has no care for other people's feelings, and WILL say things to upset people because she believes they need to be said. Just don't take her mood and manner seriously, and only read for content.
Yeah, I try to be honest and leave out all the BS. But being honest doesn't mean I "don't care about other people's feelings". It's not like I go around calling people names like "incredibly rude", so don't try to make it sound like I'm an insensitive monster.
When I "hurt people's feelings", it's usually a situation where the poster says something that is totally incorrect, like Murs on this thread. Then when I correct him, his ego cannot handle it, and his gets angry, calling me names or saying I'm insensitive or whatever. So the discussion went from two opposite opinions to him going off-topic and attacking me personally.
It's a well know fact in psychology studies that people act like this to protect their egos, but it's still very sad to see this kind of juvenile behavior.
-
Incredibly rude in fact
So you want to discuss about the fastest way to grind money, or are you still crying about me being INCREDIBLY rude? :)
You know it's very common is discussions that when a person runs out of intelligent things to say, he will start to attack the other person directly, like what we had here. We went from you saying PvP is the fastest way to grind, to you saying I'm incredibly rude.
Funniest thing here is that YOU started this thread asking for help and I gave you a link to that thread I spent 2-3 hours to make to HELP players like you. Unfortunately your ego couldn't handle me correcting you and you felt the need to make this personal.
-
Excellent, upgrading should only be done when necessary - so many of the cards in a decent rainbow deck can be won playing the gods with an un-upgraded deck.
-
I don't think it's the fact that you correct them, I think it's HOW you correct them. I honestly don't have a problem with being corrected if I make a mistake, but the very confrontational style that you tend to use does make you come off as rude.
Here's an example:
In my Time Deck thread, I stated it was "well rounded" which it obviously wasn't. I meant that it was well rounded for a Mono-Time deck, and not just in general. You came in and pointed out that it wasn't "well rounded."
You said in the title that this deck is "well-rounded" when in fact it's the opposite of that (like all mono-decks). In a situation like that I have no other choice but to correct you, and I really don't care how many enemies I make by doing that. :)
This highlighted line comes off as, and I think many will agree, quite rude and maybe even a little self-rightous. Now, I've no problem with you, so don't take any of this the wrong way, it's just that many people DO see you as a little rude and insensitive because of posts like this one, which you've posted quite a few of. :P
-

Just goes to show how much we play the game when we can't even remember the UNupgraded names of cards...>.<"
