Problem is to get speed into this deck without making it too big to be effective...

As is, you need more offense. Unless of course you don't mind super long games.
But if you do want more speed, switch all the time generators out for quantum pillars, butterfly effect for a druid, gravity shield for a bonewall (also helps with EMs) and animate weapon for fire fly queen. Also regardless if you choose faster or slower, it would be a better idea to take shards over feral bonds.

Hmm...
You don't use  at all, so a FFQ wouldn't hurt for the extra damage.
Also you could try a druid to make powerful mutants from the skeletons, who are otherwise blocked by many shields.

If you used FFQ and/or Druid, you might want to remove the Jade Shield, otherwise you would use too much life quanta.
Looks good for now, but slow of course. If you really want to beat Octane, just add a Reflective Shield. I have a feeling the Jade one is to reflect spells, correct?
