Whether to sell some cards or not

Hiya

I'm using a rainbow deck as suggested in the newbie section (but without the upgrades)

I've currently got one upgraded card (upgraded my fallen elf > druid)

ATM, I have a couple of extra cards, today I got Owls Eye from a battle, and a black nymph (sells for 1,000 gold) from the oracle, should I sell either of these and save the gold, or upgrade a card (if so what card)

Also, how many card upgrades would I require in order to defeat a false God
