a little help please? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=27127.msg344751#msg344751
« on: June 02, 2011, 01:21:30 am »
well i built this deck and it has about a 2 to 1 win loss ratio against level 3 and i want to know how to make it a better deck withthe other cards that I have
i just started playing and haven't gotten to the 500 point quest or my rare card
any advice?

Edit: Throw a Fahrenheit in there too, the other cards not the deck that would be stupid.

Any shield blocks this completely. Also, why use a hammer when you can use a short sword for the same damage and less cost?
Try looking at some other decks. There are too many ways to stop this deck. Any shield will wall you completly.

i know that's why i keep the deflags in the deck they work fairly well for destroying shields the only one i have a problem with is that green shield with invulnerability
but what i would love to know is how to improve it?

Suggestions:
1. Replace photons with flesh recluse, mummy, bone dragon, or some other death hitter. I see no real use for the photons.
2. Or you could add immolations for the photons and combo that with vultures.
3. If you're going to run empathetic bond, you need a better way to generate creatures. If you don't want to add aether, then mitosis would fill this role. Also needs a higher damage dealer, unless you want this to be a stall deck based off of empathetic bonds.
4. If you want the focus to be the aflotoxins, making this a rainbow deck (adding thunderstorms) and adding quantum pillars, boneyards, and vultures would work well.
5. Also this:
Also, why use a hammer when you can use a short sword for the same damage and less cost?
It is the greatest mystery of all...

Aflatoxin + feral bond is potentially a devastating combo and with deflag to remove shield you have the potential for some serious damage  (quit brilliant trio I may add).  You have a very nice working idea, but lets see how we can improve it.  1st off lets increase the deck size to 40 cards to further emphesize the deckout win condition.  The 1st major addition I will make is to add a shield, in this case skull shield.  Skull shield has a two fold effect in the deck.  1st it makes potential opponent attackers useless giving you more time to get your healing set up.  2nd, it allow you to use defensive aflatoxin to fill you opponents field without also damaging you.  The next big change I made was swapping the photons for some slightly bigger creatures, this will give your deck a bit more of a damage potential allowing you to win just a bit faster.  I set it up to use 3 cockatrice and 3 mummy to help balance the quanta usage for each element.  I choose to remove the hammer as it doesn't add to the main functionality of the deck.

After this other changes were just card numbers.  I modified aflatoxin down to 4 cards since you only need 1 maybe 2 to make the deck functional, bond to 5 to get more healing set up faster, and deflag to 5 cards to give more power to remove healing or shield threats.  I have a my suggest deck below for you to examine.

I enjoy seeing an influx of replies in the deck help section as the participants in the trials lend a helping hand to the community.

Good luck in the trials of :life jmdt, if you do not win my chances of winning 10K electrum will be dashed.
