Just another Dune Scorpion deck - tips? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=11300.msg138894#msg138894

Toying with this in the trainer. Armor on the Scarabs, Momentum on the Scorpions, and personally I Enchant the Pulvy because my mouse double-clicks on its own sometimes.  :(

The numbers for everything are a bit off right now, but Pillars are especially so.  :gravity mainly. Any tips, especially for getting the Quanta balanced out?

Honestly, you got waay too much stuff going on there.  For a Scarab to be of any use, you need to have played 3 cards (Scarab, Plate Armor, Gravity Pillar).  You're gonna have a lot of trouble getting that to consistently happen early enough for it to make any difference in a game.  So how about you scrap the Scarabs and Plate Armors.

Code: [Select]
55k 55k 55k 55q 55q 55q 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58s 58s 58v 590 590 590 590 590 592 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rl 5rl 5rl 5ro 5rt 5rt 5rt
Now we have another 3 card combo going on here still.  To be able to use a Scorpion, you have to play a Scorpion, Gravity Pillar, and Momentum.  How about we cut out the Gravity Pillars and play with a Gravity Mark.

Code: [Select]
55q 55q 55q 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58s 58s 58v 590 590 590 590 590 592 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rl 5rl 5rl 5ro 5rt 5rt 5rt
Now, we have both Graboids and Scorpions here.  If you want consistency, I'd say pick one or the other.  Go for a Time/Gravity deck with Scorpions and Momentum or go for an Earth/Time deck with Graboids, EQ, and RT.  If you really, really want to go trio, then you're gonna have to work your deck even more.  Let's focus the deck on the Scorpions with extra pressure from the Graboids.  So we're gonna increase the number of Scorpions and Momentum to make sure we put the poison pressure on early.  This also makes sure our Mark isn't wasted.  And for now, we're gonna chuck everything else that doesn't help get those two main strategies going.

Code: [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 58o 590 590 590 590 590 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt
With this deck, you have a 53% chance of getting 2 or more Earth Pillars and a 62% chance of getting 2 or more Time Pillars in your opening 7-card hand.  This puts you at playing a Scorpion and Graboid on turn 3 which is perfect since you can't play a Momentum till turn 3 anyways.  So this is the baseline deck.  If you want to add other cards, you definitely need more pillars and those Hourglasses back in.  Just know that even though you may be able to handle more situations with those shields and weapons, overall, your main strategy of getting Momentum'd Scorpions and Graboids on the table will be slowed down.

Hope that made sense and helped.

I would say probably Earth because he would need to spend the most Earth quanta.

The last deck runs a gravity mark.
Or the momentums would be dead cards :3
You're just as selfish as I am. You're just not as good at it yet.

An interesting deck with a very versatile use you have there. After testing it a few times, I'm amazed at how much fun it is to never know what you draw next.
But one think that this deck lacks is consistency. It is fun to play such a deck, but having that many strategies in one deck often leaves you with the wrong cards in hand.

Dragoon already did a great job taking your deck apart and filtering the Scorpion / Graboid strategy out. I'd like to give you another way on how to improve your deck, while keeping the main strategy:
  • Pulverizer or Eternity?
Having two different weapons in your deck leads often to one dead card. I'd suggest for this deck to keep the Pulverizer and throw Eternity out. The Scarabs will take care of opposing creatures while the Pulverizer smashes permaments.
If you have a 2nd Pulverizer, add that instead of the Eternity.
  • Scrap the Scorpions
Having only 3 of them in the deck with 3 Momentum gives RNG a great chance to screw you up all the time. The Scorpions are awesome, awesome enough to build a whole deck around them, but as a little sidekick they are too inconsistent.
Instead of those, add 2 more Scarabs and a Graboid so you draw them often enough to be a reliable source of CC. Having additional damage dealers also a good idea.
  • Scrap Momentum and Gravity Pillar
With the Scorpions gone, you don't really need the momentums anymore. The Pulverizer can take care of Dim Shield or Wings, anything else isn't that much of a problem.
The Mark alone won't be able to fuel your Pulverizer and the hungry Scarabs, but we'll add a few Pendulums later.
  • Scrap Hourglasses
As the deck gets smaller, you won't need the Hourglasses anymore. Any deck below 35 Cards can manage perfectly without them.
  • 5th: Quanta Balance
Since Earth is your main element, I'd suggest taking an earth Mark and add 6 Gravity Pendulum and 7 Time Pendulum. This will make sure that you always get to your earth Quantum to play the Graboids, Shield or Weapon.
Finally, we're down to the ultra slim version of your deck:

Though IMO this deck is still not very consistant. A trio is always more inconsistant than a duo.
My advice would be to focus on two or one elements (or rainbow) if you want to build a consistant deck.

First of all, you need this deck cutted down to 30 cards. And because Kakerlake showed you the Scarab variant, I'm gonna stick with the Dune Scorpions.
And second, you don't need all those different cards. It's better to stick to one strategy, not three.
I'm gonna show you two Dune Scorpion decks, Time and Gravity duo:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rj 5rj 5ro 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rp 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 8pl

This deck stalls with sundials, while the poison racks up on your opponent. Defensive and very balanced. Some of the games are long, but you'll win most of the time.
If you like more offensive decks, I have one here that you may like:

Deck import code : [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5ro 5ro 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5ru 5ru 5ru 5ru 8pl

This one is more risky to play, with 4 Ghost of the Past along with the 6 Scorpions and Momentums. With 2 Eternity as the only defense, this one is faster, but less consistent.
I personally like the first one a bit better, because I love Reverse Time. But both decks are very good, and fun to play. Try them against Silver League. They will work!
