Flying weapon is so much better then animated weapon!!! You always have  quanta!!
Also crusader works pretty good!!
Until now I think this is the best version.

Epi has several good targets even without the staff. Arsenic, eagles eye and dagger all are good targets.

Also, vampire dagger damages more then jade staff by 2. However it does heal less by 9.

you might be losing because you have no HP protection. find a way to add in a shield, upped fog shield is the cheapest.
