Unupped Scarab-Firefly combination deck https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=56676.msg1166723#msg1166723

Hi everyone, I already posted this in the trio&quartet section, then realized it actually belongs here  :facepalm
Please bear with me though since this is my first own topic on this forum  ;D

After experimenting with both firefly and scarab decks of different types, and after creating a  :time/ :air duo scarab deck with SoF and Sky Blitz I thought I'd give a Firefly-Scarab deck a try:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
576 576 576 576 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oc 5oj 5oj 5oj 5oj 5pa 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rp 5rs 5rs 5rs 5rs 5se 8pn

I'm still testing it, so the quanta-balance my be a bit off and I'm not sure about whether or not I should include sundial at all.
I decided to try it because it's a time card which can make use of the fireflies' light quanta, and I figured it would help stall during my setup phase while also letting me draw essential cards or more pillars, but by the time I get to the point of summoning fireflies it tends to hinder me more than it helps.

Another thing is the lack of shields: I could include either a fog shield or a procrastination, both of which are awesome, but I wanted to make this deck as fast as possible and I figured the scarabs would at least provide some CC while I swarm the field. Hope is out of the question, since I wouldn't get quite as many

Is this a practical deck idea? Is there some other card/strategy I could use with this deck that I' unaware of?

It does not seem very practical. You should focus on either Firefly Queen or Pharaoh in your deck, not both. Having two creature generators seems a bit pointless, and they both require lots of quanta from different elements.

FFQ decks require A LOT of quanta of 2 elements to be efficient, and the  :light generated must be used for something, like Hope, Sanctuaries or Miracles. They require a lot of  :life quanta to be efficient too.
Pharaoh decks also require a lot of quanta and that much of needed quanta makes it incompatible with FFQs.

Why do you want to have both Phars and FFQs?

Just an experiment, mainly out of curiosity. I wanted to see if there's some unexpected synergy, such as scarabs feeding on fireflies to break through shields while being more difficult to CC than a 3/2 creature.
After testing it for a while it's apparent that this makes the deck too slow to work properly, but it was fun to experient with anyway.

Btw I just read your OTK Deckbuilding guide and made myself a rage-voodoo OTK deck, extremely fun and actually pretty versatile to play with if modded correctly  :D

Both of those main creatures involve a lot of quanta and decks involving one of them tend to have them as the only strategy since one deck can only produce so much quanta in one turn.

This deck looks not very practical. Better rid off of the FFQ and replace them with scarabs. 2 Wind pillars are changed to gravity pendulums. Mark is changed to time. 2 further wind pillars are changed to time factories.
rest 3 wind pillars should be replaced with another Shard of Readiness and 2 hour glasses to speed the deck up. Replace the remaining shard of Freedom with if available the Eternity weapon or with an additional sun dial
