I think it was dragonhuman who came up with the rustler/mutate deck during the war....
There are several things that are slowing down your deck. The first problem being dragons. Their too expensive to rush, and too valuable to mutate. Take those out. Since you don't need the massive amount of life quanta anymore, you can drop the rustlers, and light pillars. Leaving you with a whole lot of nothing.
Throw in novas. You've got the entropy quanta to pay for them, and it would make mutant abilities available. Remember that control you wanted? You're welcome.
Put in cheap creatures. Life has a LOT of those, pick your favorite. Frogs make good hitters if you don't have a druid, but micros are cheap mutation fodder. It's really up to you.
The only time you should mutate an expensive card is if you're opponents played it. Otherwise, you're investing in a lottery with a crappy payout.
