Dark/Life vampire deck - opinions, and upgrading questions https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=8769.msg102223#msg102223

heya,

Been playing Elements for a few days now, started with Darkness + a few Aether, but changed that after finding the wiki page. I'm now using a slightly modified Super Vampire (http://elementswiki.co.cc/decks/super-vampire/) deck:

Code: [Select]
5bs 5c3 5c5 5c7 5c7 5c7 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5ul 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5um 5up 5up 5ut 5ut 5ut 5ut 5ut 7t4 7ta 7td
 - Swapped Dusk Mantle for Thorn Carapace for a little creature control if I get a slow start.
 - Added a life pillar to cater for the carapace, and to help land adrenalines faster.
 - I picked Druid Staff as it fitted with the healing theme of the deck, and wouldn't need to add any other pillars to use it.

1) Would it be worth adding a couple of life drains and removing the life pillar and carapace?

2) Would anyone be able to give me some advice on upgrading, mainly which order to upgrade cards in? So far I've done a pillar, vampire and nightfall, but what would be good next? I was thinking another pillar or an adrenaline, or maybe a devourer.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice :)

The original deck was:
Mark of Life
10 obsidian pillars
6 devourers
6 (minor)/vampires
4 Adrenaline
2 nightfall/eclipse
2 steal

And I like it better that way.  My rule of thumb is that if you are going to add less than five pillars, don't add any at all.  It just oozes inconsistency.  So unless you're willing to turn this into a truer duo (not recommended) I'd remove the pillar and so you have to remove the thorn carapce.  It's a good card but with just the mark you need to wait until turn eight to play it and that's only if you don't play any adrenalines.

I would've been tempted to add drain life instead of a dragon cuz I like my decks to have some form of creature control, but meh.

I can't really offer opinions on what to up.  First guess is vamps but my real recommendation would be to look at which decks you struggle against.  If RoF is ruining you, up your devourers.
