I actually started off using a flying morning star deck for my arena trials, but it didnt seem to be fast enough against gold or platinum, but that was probably my bad luck, as it took me almost a gain of 5k score to beat platinum with the deck i ended up going with, which stomped bronze and silver btw (gold was a pain, 3/4 rings too often, so i did plat)

I really recommend only using an upped version, although the animate weapons can stay unupped and be flying weapons, but that means changing from a light mark to an air mark, which does slow you down a bit.

This is the version I really like using.

I like the excessive miracles just because morning glorys alone can be slow if you dont draw that animate.  The sanctuaries help for early stalling while you wait for that needed miracle.  Once you get that first miracle played, you usually have a terrific chance of winning, unless you come up against phase shields or even bone walls.

If you come up against a firestall, dont worry too much if your sanctuaries are destroyed.  Also if a fire shield is played early, holding back your morning glorys while stalling until you can play at least 3 at a time is key to winning.  Just hope they dont use too many sogs, any more than 2 out, you better hope for the best draws you can.  3 MGs still deal 14 dmg a turn against 2 sogs, which is plenty providing you can draw at least one more.

If you're expecting to run into a lot of fire shields, it might also be worth using unupped Morning stars instead.  Only 1 less damage per turn but more hp so they last longer and end up doing far more damage overall

Flying Morning Stars are great because they are completely immune to CC, except for the occasional fire shield or thorn carapace which might happen to kill them. With no target-able creatures, most enemy decks will have a lot of wasted space because of the CC they are packing. But if you use target-able creatures, your opponent will have a use for their CC cards, and your target-able creatures won't have a good shot at surviving. This is why I would only use Morning Stars as damage. Here's an example. This is the deck I used in my first tournament. It almost never lost, and I ended up winning Western with it.

It was successful because it made the opponent's CC useless and could hold off a lot of damage with Miracles. In your version, you'll want a 6th Morning Star for faster grinding, and most of it is unupgraded. You'll want to keep the Solar Shield + Miracle combo. It gives you a lot more defense than a few sanctuaries, or anything else, would. It should look something like this.

Somehow still around, somewhat

Guys, we're looking at a Morning Star deck, whose bane is Phase Shields, and no one thought to say, "what about PC?"  For shame!

Deflagration is a nice enough card, sure, but that's been done.  It's called Divine Glory.  What about steals?  With them, you probably don't need to bother with your own shields:

Steals work on weapons, too - so six Animates to accomodate anything you should happen to place in your weapon slot.  If you happen to face a powerful shield, it'll help you live longer, so I feel only one Miracle is really necessary here.  More than four Steals are just overkill as your opponent probably won't have more than that for you to steal... if you face a full six Phase Shields, you might wait for the first two to expire while building up your field.  Later shields are always more valuable than earlier ones, and you'll have time to build up enough darkness quanta to Steal several times in a row.

(I only used the upgraded cards in your initial post; Steals and Morning Stars should be upgraded next.)
