No, the main reason why I did not use photons is also stated in Xenocidius's Sandbox: AI will mark nightmared cards as "suspicious" and will not play them immediately. Try it, AI is willing to use daggers immediately as long as no better weapon is played, while photons are usually hoarded by the AI for a few turns. This aspect of the nightmared daggers makes this combo faster on a perfect launch. My third try, it placed 16 neurotoxin counters on the enemy by turn 3.
Interesting. I did not know that. In that case, maybe pack one or two deflags so you can destroy your opponent's better weapon then nightmare the daggers.
Tried -1 Unstoppable, -1 Scorp, +2 Explosion. Works decent-ish. Never got to a situation where I exploded a weapon, maybe because I didn't test it that much.
