Hey ya'll. Just started playing a few days ago, using an aether/fire deck. It's served me pretty well - very rarely lose vs. elders - and I'm grinding my way toward 1500 gold. I didn't, however, start out with any kind of idea of where to go with it - just kind of took a stab and made adjustments as I (slowly) progressed - and I'm not really sure what direction to go in now. I'd like to figure that out before I get to 1500 gold & get my upgrade - which is where ya'll come in!
So here's what I'm working with:
Aether Mark
6x Aether Pillars
6x Burning Pillars
2x Quantam Pillars
5x Burning Spirits
3x Deflagrations
4x Lightning
3x Quintessence
2x Dim Shields
2x Parallel Universe
1x Phase Dragon
Lobotomizer
(35 total)
The general idea is to get a couple spirits out early (hopefully w/at least 1 getting quint to keep it around for the long haul), using deflag/lightning/lobotomizer for creature/perm control, and then using dim shields & parallel universe as circumstances allow. As I said, it - or some variation of it - has been solid vs elders, and have had some success vs. t50 decks, but I too often find myself ending up with either more fire or aether quanta than I know what to do with. Other versions have used fire golems - quant towers usually gave enough earth - or immortals.
So where to go from here? Do those of you with more mastery than me (read: pretty much everyone) think the underlying concept is something to build on, or should I scrap it after the upgrade quest? If the latter, what's a good direction to go?
(I've accumulated some random stuff from spins, if any of it might influence an answer to the last question: Eternity, Arsenic & Fahrenheit, a couple of steals, hourglasses & enchant artifacts.)
