I don't really agree with much of that; not every deck with quantum pillars has to be a 30 card rush, and your points all sound like they are coming from this angle.
But the point about the shield is valid. If you are packing so much healing, why not just have 2 fireshields, and take out the others? A thorn carapace would would better as it would synergise with the squid, but you are already using life quanta for mitosis.
The point of this deck is to whittle down the opponent, healing from a growing swarm of vampires whilst using fireshield to pick off creatures.
Squids work great in a stall deck, and would help to lock down the fatter enemy creatures as the smaller ones die.
Fallen Druid/Graveyard helps to mutate cannon fodder spawned from enemy creature deaths, or vampires summoned from mitosis.
Eclipsed Mito-stalker is just another potential combo. Yeah, they aren't perfect without PC, and jade shield locks them down totally, but they are good mutation fodder.
I agree with the unstoppable point; its just another card you are waiting for before you can pull out your combo.

As for actual improvements?
Junk these cards: Supernova, Phase Shield, Unstoppable, Diamond Shield, Obsidian Tower (x2)
(supernova is for rush decks, you want to focus on using 1 shield, unstoppable doesnt get cloned by mitosis, devourers are better than obby towers (at least for stall decks)
Add: Mitosis, Quintessence, Fire Shield, Maxwell's Demon, Devourer (x2)
If you can upgrade the Squid and Maxwell's Demon, do it, it makes a big difference.
