I've used a similar deck with 6 mindgate, 6 dim shield, ~9 quantum pillar, ~9 aether pillar.  I think i ended up adding a few pillars after some deckout losses.

It was a very fun and interesting deck in pvp.  Not the most effective but some of the more unexpected wins out of nowhere and at times it will really put your brain to the test as you have a lot of options.  I wouldn't recommend dropping too many of the shields as it often takes some time to get going.

Here is another variation i was playing around with for a while.  The fractals are for when you mindgate many of your opponents' pillars but his creatures are already on the field.
Code: [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61u 622 622 623 623 623 623 623 623 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a 63a

just look in the aether section of mono decks. there are a few mindgate decks out there. some of them not even containing any quantum pillars

I used the following deck the first two days in platinum league with a reasonable win rate (about 30%). I call it Headache:
Code: [Select]

In a mindgate deck, all you need to do is survive until you put on dimenshield shield on, then you mindgate you're opp everyturn if possible.  The lobotomizer is also crucial to this deck in the case you're opponent was clever enough to play with momentum cards!  It is important that you get a ton of aether quanta, because you need two per mindgate plus six per dimension shield, plus you might need to use the lobotomizer.  Don't fear to use the lobotomizer on growing creatures, even if you got dimension shield, in case you face a steal or deflagration.  The quantum pillar are the mostly as a bonus to help you have a similar quanta pool then the opponent, but in a few turns it shouldn't matter  because you will also have draw a few of his pillars, pendulums, novas or immolation.  The only case where it is crucial would  be if you're opponent is playing a mono deck, like a earth one with graboids, but with time mark to evolves them.  So keep a few quantum no matter what version you wanna do.
Here is my mindgate:

A while back i put together a mindgate deck that i used for Beginners League, and i thought you might be interested in it.

Deck Variation 1:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61u 61u 623 623 623 623 623 623 8pu

Card uses:
Quantam Pillars - These are put in the deck so that if the opponent only relies on their mark to run a card you are able to play that card.
Aether Pillars - Runs the deck, producing quanta for mindgates, PU's, shields and lobotomizers.
Parallel Universe - If the opponent has already played their creatures you are still able to use them to your advantage.
Dimensional Shield - Blocks damage.
lobotomizer - Prevents momentumed creatures getting through your shields.
Mindgates - To access your opponents cards that are still in the deck.

This deck works remarkably well and it also fits a couple of your requirements stated in the first post. I have not tested this deck against the AI but in BL (Beginners League) i only lost 3 games out of 17 and these games were to larger stalls. A weakness to this deck is coming up against other stalls who are larger than yours and dont have any creatures.

Deck Variation 2:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61u 61u 623 623 623 623 623 623 624 624 624 8pu

This deck is very similar to the first so i wont go through all the uses of the cards, but what the silence is for is if you come up against an Aether deck that has heaps of shields in it, you use it once you have enough damage out to beat the opponent in 2 or 3 turns. When you see that they will need to replace their shield next turn play the silence which will open up a gap in their defence hopefully long enough for you to win.

These decks work much better upgraded by the way. I hope this helps
