Constructing my Entropy/Gravity deck - Help https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=27633.msg351911#msg351911

Deck Type: PvP

Ok... the basic reason for this deck is that I recently won a Gravity Nymph, And already owned a Purple Nymph, and decided I wanted to construct a deck which could use them both. However, before i spend my lovely electrums, i decided to work on it in the trainer, as i would need to spend alot on upgrades. You cant PvP in the trainer however, so I would love some help :)

Here is what I first came up with:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6tu 6tu 6u5 6u8 6u8 6u9 6u9 6ug 744 744 744 744 744 744 744 745 745 745 74b 74b 74o 80h 80h 80h

I like having all bases covered in a non-rush deck, so we have BE for PC, Otys, Panda and ofcourse my little purple nymph for CC, with discord and grav nymph for quanta denial / healing, chargers to skip shields and for solid damage, and, in this version, quint to guard against heavy CCing decks. Oh and the micro-aboms to use BE on.

I tested this a fair amount and liked its versatilely (speed doesnt bother me with a deck like this), but as expected, quanta reliability was a bit dodgy, and the whole thing just felt a bit clunky (for want of a better word).

I still like the idea behind that deck, as i do love quinted creatures, especially fragile little nymphs, but decided to make a pendulum based version to see how it measured up:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
6tu 6tu 6u5 6u5 6u5 6u8 6u8 6ug 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 745 745 745 749 74b 74b 74f 74f 74f 74o

In this deck i decided to focus more on the discord/black hole combo in early game.

It's quanta was alot more sustainable and reliable, but without qunits it is very susceptible to CC, and nothing's more depressing than a dead nymph :( also without flying weapon, drawing more than one discord is wasted draws..

I'm finding it hard to pinpoint the things i want feedback on, generally I just want a fairly good PvP deck in which i can use both my nymphs.. I like the quints in the first deck, but the second is more reliable and i like the discord / black hole combo.

Baasically if it's not too irritating, could i just get some feedback on any ideas which would make this deck as viable as possible for PvP for me to spend my non-trainer electrum on it. :)

Thanks

I actually like the no quint variant, but remove 1 Micro Abdomination,1 BE,2 BH for 2 more chargers,1 more oty and 1 pandemonium.I think a 3*SoG before your grav nymph means dead.
You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Nowadays everybody's crazy.

NOTE:  Do not upgrade your nymphs unless you reallly need to:
Suppose you want to use your entropy nymph in a weekly unupped tournament, or in an unupped pvp Event
Usually the buff is not worth not being allowed to use the nymph

I actually like the no quint variant, but remove 1 Micro Abdomination,1 BE,2 BH for 2 more chargers,1 more oty and 1 pandemonium.I think a 3*SoG before your grav nymph means dead.
Not necessarily, because of the BE and Micro Abomination Combo

Personally, I think the Black Holes are Necessary, For Example on the turn when you play your grav nymph, you might want to use a BH to ensure they can't do anything, also just in case you don't get a nymph...

I also like the second deck is better, because the quanta is more  consistent, and that it is able to lock an opponent faster
I know you want to try and have the BE Micro Abomination combo, but I don't think that is efficient
I think you should drop that combo entirely:
-2 BE
-2 Micro Abomination
+2 Antimatter
+2 Charger (chargers are very nice, because they can hit through shields, since they can no longer be destroyed)

If you want to keep the BEs you could target Oty with the BE
-2 micro abomination
+1 Otyugh
+1 Charger
This way, you will still have more damage, and will have BE targets that double as your CC

thanks for the help guys! really constructive comments, I think i will keep the BEs and drop the micro aboms as seraph suggested, i like having perm control of some sort (and i have the BEs already upgraded lol) dont worry, i wasnt planning to upp the nymphs, just had them in the trainer :)

i'll have a bit more of a play around before i start upping things in-game, but you have both helped to highlight the weaker areas of the deck, thanks :)

Tried both decks and found your observations to be correct -- I enjoyed playing the second deck more, though I think with a few modifications you could make the first deck better.

I agree with a lot of Seraph's points, mainly taking out the Micro Aboms and using Otys instead as BE targets. I also agree with replacing the second Micro with a Charger -- if you play those early you can draw out CC and reduce the chances of your more valuable Nymphs and Otys (some BE'd) from being taken out.

I went back to the first deck as well and tried replacing the Towers with Pendulums, and putting more "combo" cards in. This was what I got as a result.

Still not as stable as the second deck, the main problem was of course the inclusion of Aether. I found that I had way too much :aether and too slow production for the other elements. Supernovas might be a good alternative though, since you only need 6 :aether.

I'm thinking I like your idea Bhlewos,
The first deck was very good,
but the second deck... I think the quanta production is a bit off
Firstly, the nymphs will be coming out late, so you can almost power the quints off the mark
3rd turn nymph? that would be pretty UNlucky, because that meant you didn't play your discord or oty/chargers

But my plan would actually be to change the mark to gravity, add 2 more entropy pends, then trade the gravity pends for 6 aether pends
that would provide stable gravity production, but it would be hard to include the BE;s

I tried to take a different angle with this.  The theme I'm seeing is that you want a deck with both a Purple and Amber Nymph but which also includes Quints and PC.  The truth is that is probably far too much you are trying to do with the deck, but I've done my best to try and work with it.  The first thing is that fueling quints off the mark seems like a waste.  Using Supernova's for that seems far more efficient since you only need 3 of them to power both Quints.  As an added bonus, they also contribute to the :gravity quanta to help speed things up a bit.  Here's what I came up with:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
500 568 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u5 6u5 6u5 713 74f 74f 74f 74f 75m 75m 75m 75m 75m 75m 77g 7ag 7dm 7dm 7gm 7jr 7t8 80h 80h 8pj

I know you hate using extra weapons, but 3 Discords is really the minimum you'll need to draw one in a reasonable amount of time and the extras are nice in case the first one gets blown up or stolen.  After that it was trying to utilize the quanta best.  BE is a 2 card combo that is rather costly to play and use, and is very fragile.  In a PvP format that BE'd creature almost assuredly will be the first thing targeted by CC.  Replacing them with a pair of Explosions lets you have PC for a fraction of the cost.  This is not a particularly fast deck, so adding the Dusk Shield helps buy time until you can get the Purple or Amber Nymph out to get some healing going.  It's fairly straightforward after that.  It's capable of beating Half Blood AIs and should be able to win a few in PvP.  Just keep in mind that this deck is far from an ideal PvP deck type and it won't dominate the PvP2 games.  Good luck!
Carpe Diem!!

Why didn't you use Entropy Pends? First Turn Discord/First Turn Supernova really trumps any unimportant late game things.

But then the quanta production is off, but I still think that getting the first turn discord is essential to really locking them down for a few turns and giving you that early advantage for a few turns.
