Whoops, this is longer than I thought it would be. Sorry about that.
Everything said above is good advice. Currently, Fractal is giving you a little more control in the late game and faster damage, but at the cost of 12 card slots. That's a lot. If you added Gnome Riders instead of stone pillars then you'd have the faster damage you need, and adding Arctic Squid would be a faster option for more creature stalling with more damage as a nice bonus.
Without the Aether cards you can take out some of the stone pillars, as without the fractal wardens you won't be needing so much Earth quanta. Now that you have a lot of extra card space you can add some more Earth/Water cards to your deck.
Useful Earth Cards:
- 1-2 Basilisk Blood
- 1-2 Enchant Artifact (arguably worse than another copy of SoP)
- 1-3 Stone Skin (only really useful in Earth heavy builds, has a surprisingly good alternative in Purify)
Useful Water Cards:
- 3-4 Arctic Squid (rare, fits very well into this kind of deck)
- 1-2 Trident/Poseidon (also rare)
- 1-2 Freezes
- 1-2 Purify (excellent vs Poison decks, helps a lot to negate your opponents weapons)
I wouldn't try to add all of the cards mentioned above - that would give you a jumble of cards without any real focus. In the spoiler below is a very competitive deck built by
dragonsdemesne. I'd recommend using it as a starting point - from here you can take out some of the cards you don't like and add a few cards that you do.
Finally, 30 card decks are more reliable than any other, and you want to maximize your chances of drawing SoP and your wardens. A 31 card deck is good here too - you have enough stall for deck out to be a real possibility, and 31 card decks will deck out all the 30 card decks around.
If you feel like removing the Aether cards is taking it too far away from the original then all I can really suggest is swapping some of the Stone Pillars for Gnome Riders, trying to cut the deck back to 30 or 31 cards, maybe adding 1-2 Stone Skin for some healing, and maybe adding one Psion so you can beat shields.
