You can be screwed by a shield as well as be too greedy and have your buffed DV rewound.
These were never issues, because I made 1 large to avoid damage blocking shields, or several with 1 blessing each for CC heavy decks.
Imao, a lot of faster and better deck is Chaos Power Deja Vus. But I can see why have you chosen this deck

I wanted it unupped, so CP wasn't a choice, but in all tests I've done, chaos power/amethyst dragons did come out on top.
