This deck was never really intended to be anything more than a fun diversion when I get bored of my usual farming decks.  So far it's got a decent enough win percentage against lvl 3s, but I can't help but feel that it could be better.  I know it's missing something, but I just can't figure out what!  I've been playing around with the unstable gas/phoenix/pendulum ratios but I just can't seem to find a sweetspot that gets me the speed I'm looking for.

Any suggestions?  Oh and no I don't have a Farenheit, I just can't ever seem to win one.  :)

Seems like you need more fire than air. I know that's what immos are for, but i suggest switching to air pends and a mark of fire.

I'd suggest making these changes:

 - Remove the Immolations
Immolation is great for a early Rush, later it mostly isn't that useful. If you have only 2, the chance of actually getting one early is too small for my taste. IMO they're more in the way than useful.

 - Remove Sky Blitz
Fun thing is fun, but not very useful here. You have only 4 airborn creatures anyway, it hardly ever helps.

But I don't like the deck as it is, UGs work against your own Phoenixes and I often feel like I'm hindering myself with this deck.
I'd either replace the Phoenixes with Fire Bolts, thought that would mean an instant loss against Reflective Shields, or replace the UGs with more :air Creatures, CC or whatever else you need. But that would then be a completely different deck.
IMO, the best way to make a fast deck with UG's is to take :fire mark and go "mono" :air.

The main reason I included the imos was before I added more pendulums, so I could turn 1 phoenix in the early turns into 2...  I guess they are kinda redundant now with the extra quanta I'm generating.  Sky blitz has saved me more than a few times tho, I'll usually get 2 or 3 phoenix's out and alive in a battle and if I haven't drawn another UG I can spend a few more quanta to do 42 damage or more if things start to go pearshaped, but I'll take it out and see if that gets me some more consistency.

I've toyed with the idea of going all  :air cept for some deflags like your second deck there, but my issue with that was always that I'd draw UGs so fast I'd nuke my wyrms into oblivion, and with the cast cost and the 2 per turn each for dive it was slowing me down.  I'm curious if you have the same issue with your deck, cause mine was somewhat different. 

Also even if I kill my Ps they only cost 1 Q to reanimate and I can bring them back my next turn, and they tend to be fairly resistant to CC.

In the :air deck, I usually don't even dive the Wyrms, because as you said, they just eat up too much quanta. Also, I prefer to light the gasses only to finish the opponent off, or maybe to kill some creatures. It just helps when your creatures stay alive.
Instead of Wyrms, you could also use Dragons, but then you'd end up with a over-15-Pillars-deck, which is just inconsistant and kind'a slow due to Pillarswamping.
Even these 15 Pillars are tight on the border of being simply too many.

Also works great, but is instantly killed by a reflective shield. Also, it isn't really fast.
