Thieving Lyncanthropes [Entropy] [Darkness] [Unupped] https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=55461.msg1151666#msg1151666

Hey, all! I need some advice on this deck.  It's quanta balance seems okay, and its PC
really helps in a lot of situations, but it lacks CC.  Should I add some? If so, what should I add?  Any other comments would be appreciated.  I know it's a fairly boring deck, but I searched duos for lync and steal and found no results.

I think 2-3 steals would be enough. Also, I would replace the dragons with aboms. As for CC, I think pandemonium would be good, since you have sturdy creatures, or maybe antimmater.

Thanks for your input :)

I removed one of the steals, replaced dragons with abominations and opted for an antimatter over pandemonium.  The deck looks like this now:

First off I just want to start off by pointing out that you really don't need to sign all your posts with 'SC'. Everyone can tell who wrote the post by looking to the left.

As for the actual deck in the above post, I like it. It's versatile and can pack a serious punch. Depending on the draw you may be a little quanta starved for darkness or Entropy but for the most part you should be fine as long as you get a good number of Lycanthropes early instead of Dusk + Steal early or lots of Abominations early.

The only modification I might make is to take out a Dusk Mantle in favor of another Discord if you have one more. In fact, I would go so far as to replace both Mantles with Discord and maybe replace a pendulum with a pillar. This is because you can't get Dusk Mantle out before the 9th turn in most games(At least not while also powering up 2-3 Lycans) or if you do you won't be able to get a steal out as well.

However, if I was using this same deck fully upgraded(except for the Abominations) I would take out a pendulum for a Discord and possibly consider taking out a single shield for a Discord as well.

Note: I am making all these suggestions just from personal experience and playing this deck twice, once for each version you have. Your mileage may vary. I also expect that you aren't far enough in the game yet to have more Discord. If not, then that's fine. This version plays nicely versus Level 3

That's interesting. Expensive for a new player but the Dragons are a good idea. Having 2 types of weapons isn't a good idea imo.

Chaos Seed for inexpensive CC is also a good idea. Nightmare is nice for stalling and small damage as well. Nothing to complain about in that other than the duo types of weapons. Also, I think I've seen that deck somewhere before.

Anyways, gj serprex. I was hoping to stay as close to his original deck as possible while only doing small modifications. Yours is a very good modification that frees up quanta while allowing for more variation on what you play in each game.

You've seen it since I posted it as a Bronze grinder in decks vs arena stats

Not liking the duo of weapons is you being trained to dislike any inconsistency in decks. This deck is about 1-ofs. While testing it vs Bronze I'd often get to choose whether Discord was more useful or not (Bronze has too many grabbows). I'd also get to choose to drop discord for vamp if the game was late enough that discord was no longer useful. There is nothing inherently worse about packing 2 1-of weapons compared to 2-of'ing a weapon. The deck is meant to be played in a way where you know you only have 1 copy of most cards, so you better choose the right turn to play it. Hand diversity gives you flexibility

It mostly loss because it'd bottom deck dragons. Not because of drawing the wrong weapon

Anyways sorry about derailing this topic about 1-of'ing multiple weapons. Carry on (ps I realize you mostly complimented the deck; I'm overly sensitive about the 1-of'd weapons point)

Thanks guys, for helping me out with this deck.  I really like the addition of chaos seed for cc.  I think that the other changes that were proposed were down to preference, but they are very valuable to me, so thank you for your inputs and  :time

Oh, And tribal, if me adding 2 extra lines for 2 letter bothers you too much, i will refrain; but for now:

Nobody mentioned that you're way short on darkness quanta.. go with 3 pillars and 10 pendulums. You'll end up with excess darkness quanta at the end, but it's a sacrifice to not have a really slow early game.

I find replacing two lycans with gargoyles or black dragons, and replacing all the pillars with pendulums helps.
Also, antimatter instead of chaos seed. Replace a dragon and the chaos seed with antimatters.

This is because antimatter is amazing CC, and you're generating a bit too much entropy.
Also because, with nightmare, you have creatures your opponent will be able to play due to discord, which you can then turn to your advantage.
More discords would be nice though. Also don't like having two different weapons in a deck with AW - two stilettos or two discords. I recommend discords.
