Am I barking up the wrong tree here? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=2625.msg21285#msg21285

Got the Upgraded Poseidon and decided to try building around it, using the Water Mark just for it, the Flayer and the Nymph's Tears was inspired by the "Really Slow AI5 Mastery Deck"'s use of Fire...which got the the card in the first place...

So far I've had little luck with it, only winning one match (A Mastery though) against an AI5 on the strength of Poseidon keeping his off-mark quanta (Entropy) down long enough for a Phase Shield and shards followed by an Quinted Amber Nymph, backed by a Quinted Flayer being able to nerf and hold them off long enough for my Shriekers to get there.

It was slow, and ugly, but it got there...was it a "God Draw" or does this deck actually have some potential?

Edit: WOW! Tried this out on some TOP 50...it works! Decks that rely on Otyoghs and mebbe a Druid usuallly deck out against it...I went up against one guy who had the same size deck as I, but I went first, so I thought I'd deck out first...his miser sundial he hit with 12 cards left saved me. The LD doesn't always work, but I did shut one guy who was powering all his time quanta from quantum towers down to where he couldn't always use his hourglasses. Both Earth and Aether Nymphs have saved me as well...

I really don't think the deck is that great, but I guess its the metagame...that or really good draws...

You can't WAIT for your Graboids. You must get the offensive power quickly and then control them in later game. I would replace 2 Lightnings with 2 more of them.

Next one. Not too much defense here and probably that's why you lose against AI5. I would rather replace SoGs (yeah, because 3 SoGs in a deck is rather too small stalling power) with some more Dim Shields. They're one of the best shields in the game after all. :P One more thing. If you can't get a next Poseidon, get some Earthquakes. More pillar control gives you some more time to get your strategy started.

That's only my opinion, but I think it is what this deck needs.

Then it would look like this:

4 Novas
10 Stone Pillars
6 Graboids
2 Enchants
1 Mind Flayer
1 Nymph's Tears
5 (or maybe 1-2 more) Aether Pillars
4 Dim Shields
2 Quints
1 SoD (or you can get some more)
1 Poseidon
2-3 Earthquakes

The deck would contain about the same amount of cards if you'd add + Pillars and SoDs. Without them, it'd be smaller and maybe more offensive.

In the future, I would be more Poseidon-based. 1-2 Poseidons more, maybe even Novas replaced by Sapphire Pillars and then change the mark to time for the Graboids. (don't kick me if it's a bad idea, ok? :/)
