A upgraded Firefly is 4/2, but it generates fire instead of light, if you would use a Upgraded Firefly, I would suggest a fire spirit/fairenheit deck?

that's completely altering the deck blast, and his orig had no upgraded cards so i was trying to avoid any

Exactly, at least fireflies can survive a thunderstorm, and an extra turn against plague, and they inflict more.

Always keep one in your hand incase of mass control though.
