Unupped chargers and dragons are lame.

They don't have the damage potential to speed past the rushes, and don't have much damage to beat the stalls.
In that case use accelerated armagio's.
I've been playing with some acceleration variants...  accelerated armagios dont get the damage fast enough...  so I was thinking charger+acceleration+angel or charger+accel+holy light or accelerated angels not workin...

With the implicit understanding that Gold and Silver are largely out of reach, I'd like to set a goal of coming up with a very effective entirely unupped Silver League deck.  I'd like to earn a rarespin about one in every three runs, which means the deck has to have an overall win percentage of 85% or better.
Maybe taking one step back. I would have been happy with an unupped deck that wins 85% in Bronze.  ;D

Bronze is pretty workable with Grabbix.

My unupped immorush (ok, I lied, there's a couple upped cards but not enough to call this an upped deck) has been rocking Silver today - right now I'm at 11 consecutive wins, with only 1 loss today.
Years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, Bob Hope, and Steve Jobs. Now we have Obama, no hope, no cash, and no jobs.

I dunno how to make the nice fancy deck image thing, but it's:
4x Burning Pillar
6x Phoenix
5x Immolation
5x Photon
1x Vampire Stiletto (Hammer suffices)
6x Lava Golem
3x Deflag

Basically Lava Rush vNG with some small changes - added a deflag after mono-Aether got annoying, added a Phoenix and a Golem to add damage, removed 1x Pillar/Immo/Photon - Needed the extra damage cause of the extra health in Arena.

I'd honestly add the 6th Immolation back in there.  Sure, it's 31 cards, but as the deck is, it looks hella quanta starved.

It is a little slow sometimes, but it has the advantage of being somewhat more stable. I've been experimenting with some changes to the deck, and the extra immolation is pretty helpful even being 31 cards.

This. It looks more like those 11 wins were variance (:().

I think the most promising monos will be Death, Dark, or Entropy. Working on finding a decent deck.

Well, I built this dark deck, mostly based off something I used long ago, probably not very original:

8x Obsidian Pillar
5x Black Dragon
6x Devourer
3x Dusk Mantle
3x Steal
2x Nightfall
3x Drain Life
Mark of Darkness.
(Obviously, everything is unupped).
It just got me a rare spin (and a pharaoh) in silver - I'll start keeping stats now.

EDIT: This got slammed pretty hard - over 32 games, 13 wins, 19 losses, 3 EMs. Weaknesses were early Oty, early CC on the devourers, and obviously Sanctuary if you can't get early Steals.

Against mostly unupped decks it did very well (it was highly satisfying to completely shut down a fire deck from the beginning with quanta denial), but there were a surprising amount of close to fully upped decks. There were 2-3 mirror matches (I lost them all - the Arena bonuses make any mirror match an almost guaranteed loss), which also surprised me. The deck also takes a while to get going, so a rush with decent draws can win before you can get anything out.

Back to the drawing board.
