So I tried to make a really really fun death deck, but this one isn't working.

The concept is to afla them fast, with your skull shield out, then plague the cells and reap the benefits, with a vulture or two, a boneyard, and a bonewall.  But it's not working =(

It could be fun once it works, but for now, I'm looking for tips.

(Note, I had no idea if this should go in deck help or not.  While it is a deck I need help with, it's also mono-death strategy...)

I was having fun with this type of deck idea too...  I can't really find a way to make it work effectively.

My version:
Bone pilar x10
Vulture x3
Skull Shield x1
Boneyard x3
Bone Wall x2
Retrovirus x3  *these to me are better than plague*
Aflatoxin x3
Spark x5 (Really isn't a death element.   it is free... so i don't think it matters)

The deck seems fun in concept. It is just really hard to get anything going.  I always seem to hesitate when it comes to sparks... Do I play them now or later when I have another Boneyard or Bonewall? (Aflac'ing a spark is fun...  fyi)

Not sure if that helped... It seems like mono-death is a little lackluster when it comes to deck build.  Vultures are hard to rely on.

Ace, the retrovirus is not better than a plague. They can be eaten, killed first turn by a fire shield, loboed and the 1/1 isn't good, even against the worst shields.

Gl1tch, you've got too many end-game cards in there.  I'd drop a Vulture, a Boneyard, and a Bone Wall, and replace them with 1 mora Aflatoxin and 2 more Bone Pillars.  You need the quanta for Aflatoxin YEStERDaY, but the end-game cards you can wait to draw once you've established board control via Aflatoxin + Skull Shield.

If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

I know it wouldn't be Mono, but Mark of Air and Thunderstorm would be better than Plague, since it kills them instantly, and prevents the opponent from killing your vultures, or destorying your boneyards before the Cells die.

Biggest problem for this deck is big creatures...if you're up against gravity, you're in LOTS of trouble...fire, lots of trouble (since they get a lot of damage in before you can kill all the creatures). The only thing you have to combat this is Afla and Plague, which are not very good to use as a major kill strategy - Plague is too slow, and Afla is too expensive. Bone Wall is good, but what happens when you run out of bones and/or kill cards?

Edit: Also, your only offense comes from Bone/Graveyard and Condor...if either of these is messed with, you're in trouble as well.

Not sure if this helps, I know the idea is to get lots of cells on their side, then Bone Wall and Plague, but you will run out, and once you Bone Wall you don't want any more Cells out there, which means Plague is your ONLY source of creature control. Plus, this is a relatively slow deck, which means you have to worry about Perm control as well.

Good call.  I'll try it.
