So this is going to be the definitive version of this deck unless I see some suggestions that help a lot, but I've won 3 CL matches with this and it works really well so I'm pretty happy with it!

Ok so first here is the deck.

*** Edit:  I've learned how useful SOGs and Quantum towers are with this deck from experimenting around with gocubbies1212 deck.  I liked his deck but still found myself wishing I had rewinds since they have such a great synergy with the mind gates.  That is what brought me too this newest version of the deck.
Deck Helper comment:
The deck below was posted before the 1.32 game update and as a result may work very differently now.  Use at your own risk.

This includes:

6x Mind Gates

Optional:

Phase Recluse (Can be very helpful to rewind and for the extra damage)

Pros:

-This is a very fun deck that can be used to deal with a variety of different types of decks
-Rewinds can be used to target cards you want to copy (including quantum)
-Eternity allows you to take as long as you need to set up your strategy (assuming enemy has creatures or you include phase recluse)
-Hour Glasses help lesson bad draws
*Edit: Found HGs to be hard to include.  I just don't think there are two less important cards for me to take out to make room for these.
-6 mind gates can result in a lot of quantum and a lot of the non immortal creature of your choice

Cons:

-Weakness to momentum
-Heavy permanent control can really set you back
-It takes a while to set up
-Really poorly constructed decks can often be harder to beat then a good deck

Strategy

So I think this is going to be the most important strategy section I've written because a lot of people seem to be very confused with the potential of the mind gate.

First major strategy point:

YOU DON'T NEED QUANTUM TOWERS OR SUPER NOVAS!

** Edit but a few quantum towers can be useful!

So after playing almost a 100 games with various different versions of mind gate decks I've come to the conclusion that a few quantum towers can be very helpful.  A big problem you will run into with mind gate decks is your hand size.  While waiting for quantum you might end up filling your hand with your opponents cards that you can't play.  This will then not allow you to use your mind gates which will cripple your deck.  That's is why I threw in just a few quantum towers into the latest version of my deck.

So here is the second major strategy point:

A rewind can be used to target ANY card you want!  Not just creatures.*

*exception when your opponent has a golden hourglass out

** Edit By target I mean selecting a card to be duplicated with the duality ability.  Rewinds can only be used on creatures but since you duplicate the first card on the deck you can rewind creatures to have more access to that card.  Some people were a little confused by my word usage in this section.  Please read below for some more clarity.

How do you do this?  Well you should mind gate EVERY single turn first off.  Then lets say that you mind gate a quantum tower and you know you will need a lot of these.  Finish mind gating how ever many you can and THEN rewind a creature.  This will make the quantum tower the first card on his deck again when your next turn starts and you can repeat using duality on his quantum towers.  You can easily get 6 - 12 towers with this strategy and you will become MUCH faster than your opponent after that.

So now that those two major points are covered here is your general strategy.

1. Put out mind gates as fast as possible (but only put out as many as you can use don't waist quantum)

2. Use your first 2 rewinds as delaying tools to help you set up and your remaining 2 to target the specific cards you need.

3. Take damage till your below 60 health before you start deploying phase shields

So there it is.  It still needs to be tweaked but I wanted some ideas from the community so I decided to post it in a still pretty rough form.  Below is the first version of this deck.

It's interesting, I like it. I'll have a go at it sometime and let you know if I tweak it around.

No it can't, it says specifically on the card that the target creatures becomes the top card on the deck.

i think what he meant was you can target any card you mindgate at the top of the deck by rewinding a creature. So as he states to get multiple towers. you "target" so to speak any card in his deck that you want and keep it in its deck position.

at least thats what i think he meant.. and should really have said if that is the case.

he did.. but in a weird way.. you should never state that a card does something that is not written on the card or actually does.. his wording says rewind can target any card.. this alone is not true.. with his entire message its true. it was just poor word usage.

Well what he meant is that it can target any card for the purpose of the deck, which is to mindgate it. He didnt say it could rewind any card, he said rewind can be used to target any card. And then went on to explain this in the next paragraph. I had no issue understanding it and I think its actually a pretty cool idea :P.

Thanks for the explanation, I totally did not get what he was saying.  But it makes more sense now.

Thanks for clearing this up for me Nume.

Yes, when I refer to "Targeting" with this deck I am referring to the card that you would like to make copies of using your mind gate.

So the concept I was trying to teach everyone is that rewinds are dual purpose with this deck.  They can be used to keep a "target" card on top of your opponents deck, OR to put a specific "target" creature card (non-immortal) on top of your opponents deck.  Then you can use your hopefully multiple mind gates to make multiple copies putting you one step in front of your opponent.

Here is the latest build of the deck I've been using.

Code: [Select]
7q4 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q4 7q8 808 808 808 808 808 808 808 808 80a 80a 80d 80d 80d 80j 80j 80j 80j 80j 80j 81q 81q 81q 81q 81q
6x mind gates
5x Aether pendulums

Still very fun but not competitive yet.

This is definitely a fun deck to play in pvp. The most irritating matchups though are pillarless rushes or heavy PC ones... decks that are fully upped and good for pvp though are often good matchups for this one :P. I hate fighting unupped ppl though bc the game takes longer heh.

Looks fun. Can you survive to some rush deck with it?
